Anyone know whats happened to Strokesaver.Have they gone bust,website shut and pro shop not had any for ages.

If im was coming to blackpool for a trip i would look at st annes old links...really good links course,great condition and they do some good deals on their web site.

Yes i looked at it..they spending a lot of money on drainage this year...unfortunately its like a building site at the moment,it suffers alot from the bad wet weather. Played north shore on monday and it was in great condition.

Hi Thanks for the replies.I live in lytham st annes lancs.My nearest course is royal lytham but forget that one.Then there is st annes old links which has no joining fee £800 pa membership and £1800 bond..which you get back if you leave.The course i am interested in is blackpool north shore...

As a relative new commer to the game i have been enquiring at local courses about memberships.Can anyone explain why clubs have joining fees that are as much as the memberships,what do these cover.?

Thanks for all advice. Played last weekend,bit nervous on first tee,went with 5 iron down middle of fairway to settlre the nerves.My hcap was cut to 24 as my hcap is 28. Scored 26 pts and came in 13th out of 28. Should of picked up few more points but missed few 4ft putts.Overall enjoyed it.

Hi As a total beginner playing off 28 I tend to slice,hook and top balls.But today I played full round without loosing one ball (usually 6 a round).The only difference is the ball I used,slaz black ice,it seemed o fly longer and straighter than usual.Howeever I cant seem to find any online for...
