    Matsuyama Disqualified

What were his "club guy" and caddie thinking of? One of my gripes about caddies is that they spend vast amounts of time in hotel rooms and on flights. They should know more about the rules of golf than anybody, if only to protect their employer from these foibles of golf. Surely a simple...

    15 hole comp

Tomorrow we have a seniors 15 hole comp. Our seniors play on a "seniors course" which plays off the men's yellow tees with the exception of the 18th which has a blue seniors tee because of the carry over a ravine which is too long for lots of the older members. My question is, 1, given we will...

Hardest course you’ve played, and why?

Agreed, loads of my balls on there. Alhaurin not much better. Why oh why did I think it was a good idea in the early 2000,s to spend so much money playing courses a mountain goat would have difficulty negotiating?

    Disqualification from a Stableford Comp.

We have an issue at the moment because our new score cards have three boxes at the top. Left to right they are, handicap index, course handicap, and playing handicap. when you enter a comp the screen read out has playing handicap and course handicap in the opposite order. quite a few have put...

    Dreaming

Wow, thanks for the replies. I thought it was just my playing partner and me who were in a weird club of our own!! So it seems that our beloved game even messes with your head when your asleep.

    Dreaming

So, my playing partner admitted during an on course conversation that he often dreams about playing golf at night. the problem is, he never gets off the first tee as there is always something that prevents it. The tee won't go in the ground, the ball won't stay on the tee, there isn't enough...

    Golf England

For what it's worth. I don't think the suspension of golf was ever about the safety of playing the game per se. I think it was more about the travel to and from courses and the distances involved. We are not all fortunate enough to live on the doorstep of our respective clubs. Where would you...

    Membership Rebate

Subs due 1st April deferred until mid May to compensate for golf lost in first lockdown. Nothing for subsequent lockdown as was winter months and golf not possible for a bit chunk of this due to conditions ( fair enough). No increase in fees from last year. As a footnote, it seems club has done...

WHS - Did you go up or down?

I went from 13.2 to 15.3. My best scores are mainly the ones that will drop off as we resume golf, so unless I hit form straight away I'm guessing it will go up in leaps and bounds. this may become an embarrassment as my handicap had crept up due to injury that is now fixed not due to inability...

Good Memorable Courses not in GM Top 200 and under £40 normal visitor green fee, in UK

the opening hole at Skipton is now what used to be the second. With the new holes ( due to flood relief work) it is even better than it used to be. don't think outside of Spain I've played a course with so many elevated tees.

    Who owns this!!!.............

I've come across a few tees stuck in our fairways. I'd like to think folk just forgot to pick them up after mark, clean and place but something tells me that's not the case.

    Mulligans Laws of Golf

A provisional ball will always end up in the rough 150 yards across the fairway from the original ball or in the rough next to the original ball.

    Dunlop DDH Golf Ball

Your lucky, I've never had a ball long enough for it to be an old ball?
