No idea Bob as i bought my GI set to start many years ago and still have them, i keep getting told i need better/newer/shinier clubs now so i will try hitting my winter league partners newish blades today if i get the chance and let ya know :)
I have mentioned doing this before and said buddy...
Re: How much effort is required over natural abili
Well said that man!
I agree with the above and have found with my own golf that playing lots really does make you better wich in turn gives you the feeling you are better than your handicap suggests. The bugbear i have found with this is you...
Yeah in my head i know it was most likely to be a PB, on the rare occasion i played a bad shot (by my standard) the next made up for it. As you say sometimes good rounds arent always reflected in the scores but this round was different, for the first time i felt i was playing well and the score...
I agree with the wise words already posted. I havent been able to play much the last few weeks due to a change of job and played my first comp on saturday expecting to play badly, turned out to be the best golf i have ever played, i have learnt more and more the last few months that pressuring...
Played my first comp yesterday, yellowball 4some, had a great laugh with 2 members i hadnt met before, really was some epic banter and some great golf played. :) The 3 best scores each hole were counted with 3/4 handicaps, one had to be the yellow ball, we came in with 101 points, not too shabby...
My place is looking fantastic, i really cant grumble, the greens are as true and fast as ever, fairways are decent, rough nicely cut down, no temps, winter tees are ok, but there are a couple of holes shut for slight remodelling of the greenside bunkers.
Yes and no...
Got the golf bug back bigtime in the summer after a few years off, played socially to around 24 but managed to break 90 once or twice, joined a club and had a good knock for my 3rd card and was given 17 for my first handicap. Played 4 times a week for a month orso and started...
What you are looking for as others have said is a forgiving driver first and foremost.
I havent owned many drivers, ive had a RAM a few old cobras and an old titleist, all of wich i got on with to an extent but none were anywhere near as forgiving as the 08 Burner i picked up a few weeks ago...
Will watch with interest how you get on with those Hitec's Brendy, I bought some Greenjoys 3 months ago from a local shop and stupidly forgot to keep the receipt...they cracked where they bend for the toes aswell, i thought FJ were meant to be good?! although for £40 i shouldnt grumble too much. :)
AArgh sounds like agony boys, well done for seeing it through though and a healthy 31 points by the sound of the conditions! Tis a shame they didnt rescehdule it...could have been a much better day, well done anyway for getting that far and scoring so well!
I only play in the week at the moment, so sorry for dragging this post back up! :)
I played with 2 of my usual playing partners yesterday who both hit consistently low-mid 70s, we all drove off long and straight but into a massive headwind so ended up 110 yards from the green wich is uphill...
Ive had a few drivers many years ago including a few cobras and a ram, eventually settled on a Titleist 905T wich was awesome when i hit it really well but not forgiving in the slightest! I had a few years off and came back to the 905 and couldnt hit it for toffee, slight mishits = massive...
Yeah me too....but this being the first club i have joined and the first winter golf i have played i thought perhaps it was a standard thing....obviously not! :)
Yes i do have google but i cant find many useful sites, just after an inside track on some decent sites/info that people use regularly.
Having just joined my first club and really getting the golf bug back i am hearing on here about forum comps/volvo matchplay etc and really wanting to get...
