We have a new joiner (to England club) from Australia. I have link number etc. Is there a way of transferring handicap automatically or am I reduced to getting last 20 scores from him and inputting manually?
How does this diktat fit with model local rule E5 (alternative to stroke and distance)?
“The Local Rule is appropriate for general play where golfers are playing casual rounds or playing their own competitions. ”
EG are clearly extending the circumstances in which the rule can’t be in place...
No, it applied before this year. And unless I’m going mad, the Low HI is used not just for eligibility but for some competitions is also used to calculate Course Handicap and hence Playing Handicap. See Sections D and E of the Golf Ireland handbook. I don’t really understand how it fits with WHS...

I,d join where you think you would most like to end up. If you join the local muni then you may very well make friends and you might end up staying for that reason she n you’d really prefer playing elsewhere.
Because I’m a competitive person and that’s what I enjoy. I play very little non competitive golf, find it mostly boring tbh unless on an away course or something.
Backstopping. Plenty of people who ask you to leave your ball by the hole rather than than just shutting up and letting you stand by the green for pace of play reasons.
