played with a guy once who had a different idea of this. Ball may be lost or in hazard so play provisional. Find ball in hazard he claimed provisional must be 3 off the tee as you can't play provisional for ball lost in hazard so it couldn't have been a provisional could it? had to laugh.
To the OP, not only can you drop on the path, you MUST or you get a penalty.
Decision 25-1b/11.5 clearly states you cannot take relief from two 'obstructions' in one drop.
isn't trilby tour off 3/4 handicap or something like that? Surely they would need to adjust back to their effective score off full handicap before posting. Played in TT and got 36 points, no change for me. But off full handicap would have been 41 points!
That can't be right can it? Suppose you get two shots on this par 4, having a 'mare, pick up, get's recorded as a 7. Woo hoo 1 point in stableford!! :-)
A better max score for a hole is lowest number that equates to blob for that player.
I'm a member of Downshire so can add a little info here. The golf complex is (currently) council owned and run. There are three clubs that play there. Easthamstead ladies, Easthampstead and Downshire. Each club has it's own membership deals for the club but none mean free golf. You still...
From the OP I'm picturing a hedge/bush and a cliff face some distance behind and that any ball behind the hedge is completely unplayable and non-retrievable. Why then, is that hedge not considered the boundary of the course rendering the ball as OB. Would make sense if you can't even get close...
I actually came a cross a scenario where this is the best course of action. Consider the scenario where you hit the ball onto the green, mark it, pick it up and clean it and then put it in your pocket only to then realise your provisional ball is in there also and they are the same and you...
The level 1 school I did was the inaugural one and, as far as I can see, the same as the online one. My hope was that it would be considered a little more formal and a better stepping stone to the level 2 and bump me up the list when it appears...
It actually was a good day out tbh. £25 paid...
so... yes then. that's a great answer and very helpful, thanks.
I did the level 1 exam a fortnight ago. That was followed a similar format except it was all 'open book'. had an hour to 30 multi choice and then 5 holes scenarios with 4 questions per hole - 50 marks in total I guess - just...
Hi people,
Looking for a little guidance on Rules School level 2 which I'm looking to do next year.
Is the level 2 exam an open book exam and are you expected to be simply know the options for a re drop, say, or are you expected to actually be able to quote from memory, rule, paragraph and sub...
I have to be honest and say that, yes, I'm a sceptic when watching the TT on telly. I commented a couple of years ago in a different forum that "isn't it a coincidence that same guys are doing well year in year out'. Regarding one such chap I got a response along the lines of 'yeah, he plays...
in replay to "Are your club or mens captain" question.
sort of the same thing. We play at a muni and there are two separate clubs. mens and ladies. Sometimes we play matchplay against each other.
I'm reliably informed that what I saw happening happens far too regularly and the matches fall...
I've come to this a bit late I know but... I'm in the camp of don't play mixed comps. At my club it's a historical fact that every time a mixed comp takes place the men's white tees are scattered about as per normal but the ladies red tees are always within inches of the front of the tee box...
Other than the obvious yes, learn the rules stuff I would also offer any player at a club the following advice...
Just play YOUR game. You'll be out with different people each competition. Sometimes low and sometimes high handicapper. Sometimes long hitters and sometimes shorter hitters. If...
