The Masters 2026

You can play Augusta for 25$!!!

OK so it's actually not Augusta National, it's Augusta Muni a mile down the road and you have to be a local resident to get that rate, but the course has been completely redone by Tom Fazio after the hurricane basically destroyed it (with bucketloads of cash from its near neighbour and "partner"), and .... well lets just say it doesn't look like any local muni we'll have ever been to :D ; reopens the week after The Masters.
Tiger has designed a short 9-hole course for kids there called The Loop. I've played his short-holer at Pebble Beach (The Hay - Greens like a tour course - yet FREE for U12s!!!!!) which was great fun with a kid, so hopefully this will be just as good and I'd imagine will be similarly inclusively priced.

Play it and you can say you've "played Augusta" :D
You can even play the putting course for free.
Imagine living nearby and having this as your local $25 muni.....

Apropos Bryson, if you watch this 'Masters prep' YT video, I don't think you'll be betting the house on him winning The Masters...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6SOILwZ1DY

Some podcasters have pointed out that Bryson's main weakness is approach play, wedge finesse and short irons. In this video he himself is clear that that is where the struggle is.

..as I'm sure Faldo will take great pleasure in reminding us again.

Takeing Aberg over Scheffler if you have the same winnings paid out on either choice is stupid bold!
The combined knowledge of the world, validated with real money is available to you through the market at Betfair etc.
No need for ideas; very simple method here is mathematically the best by miles; take the golfer with the lowest "to-win" odds remaining in the betting market. Repeat for every pick.

Where’s the fun in that?

I've stood on the spot from where Bubba hooked that shot. A marshal was showing people....

Quite simply.... no blooming way! 😁
I’ll agree - this one has to win.
All the others are great shots under severe pressure, but….
Lyle is just showing that the very best like him can pick a shot completely clean out of a bunker.
Rory had a few holes to go; not a playoff - could have parred that hole and been very much alive.
Tiger - anyone could make that shot with enough attempts - sure it’s him and the way the ball ‘hovers’ for a second is perfect cinema, but shot itself not THAT special.
You could give me 1000 attempts at Bubba’s shot and I could never even get one close. Done in a sudden death playoff with 1 attempt. He wins.

Its all about opinions. No one can argue with your own. Mine is that Tigers was better as his shot ended up in the hole. Bubbas shot was amazing, no doubt about it. But it didn't go in and he also missed the putt.

Ok so Bubba only had 1 attempt? But anyone could make Tiger’s shot with enough attempts?

I think you’re missing a fundamental part of golf: you only have one attempt at every shot.

Erm, you’ve (deliberately?) missed out the bit where I said I couldn’t make Bubba’s shot given 1000 attempts, which is the bit that makes the other two statements make sense.

Give me enough attempts and I could make the shot Tiger made. Most people could.
No matter how many attempts you gave me, I could never make Bubba’s shot.
Therefore I see Bubba’s shot as more difficult and therefore better than Tiger’s. So I like it more.

Not hard to understand (or so I thought).

You’re fine to see Tiger’s shot as better, or your favourite - it’s just opinions - you might argue that the fact it’s Tiger, the Augusta green slopes, the super-dramatic way the ball paused and then dropped, and the crowd roar and his reaction all make it great; and that would be a very valid explanation and fair enough. I’m just saying I prefer Bubba’s and giving my explanation why.

Anyway

See the Masters channel has sat down with Rory to go through hole by hole of his final round as a massive fan look forward to watching that I’ll probably enjoy that more than the Amazon doc.

Think it’s a great idea would love more content of pros talking through their wins
