Hi all,

Firstly would anyone recommend buying a Zepp analyser for someone relatively new? I am havin lessons and progressing well. Just been offered one of these for £55. Had a read of the reviews and they seem quite nice.

I also plan on buying a x40 watch. Wanting a smart watch anyway and this will give me a smart watch functions plus heart rate as well as hopefully help on the golf course.

I've had people tell me it's pointless using a gps watch on the course until you hit the ball consistently but I don't think I agree with this. I have found an app on my phone helpful to know how far to the green and choose the appropriate club. I might not hit every shot as I want but at least I know if I hit the ball well I have the right club to get the distance I want.

Anyway, would people bother with the Zepp analyser or just go ahead and get the x40 watch

Many thanks

I'd say definitely get the watch. I got my Garmin S2 last year and even though I was playing off -54 at the time and my swing and ball striking were anything but consistent, it did help me a lot to get a feeling for what club to use for a given situation.

Never tried a Zepp or similar device myself. While I think the information it gives you are interesting, I don't know if it will help you get better. Have you asked your pro about it? I think the Zepp could make sense if he gives you pointers what numbers to look out for and how to change them. In that case it could be a useful tool to measure your progress while practicing.
