Just broke my number one rule and bought some irons I've never hit. Ok, before you shoot me I did waggle them about in Eagle Golf and fell in love with the feel and swingweight, which is often enough for me - I've rarely not liked an iron that felt right in the hands.
What were they? Oh, sorry, guys! Macgregor V-Foil M565s in graphite. I've been looking to go to graphite recently as my CFS means I get tired after about 13 holes and my standard steel MX15s are too heavy for me.
The mx15s are the 1st irons I've used with a lot of offset and I did like them, but I much prefer a club with minimal offset. Before the MIzzys I played Cleveland TA7 tours and loved them too apart from the shafts.
I was very suprised when I looked down on the V-Foils as I'd never even considered Macgregor before, but I really liked them. The best part was the price. I was looking at a set of MX23s in graphite for about £400. These Macs were £149 from Direct-Golf!
Im happy, the missus is happy, the only ones not happy are my poor MX15s who've cried themselves to sleep hoping for a new loving owner!
