As the title says, how did it go?

Another could have should have for me, a bit like Wednesday night was. Net 72 buffer for me which is a but frustrating. 7 pars 1 birdie and 10 holes at 17 over. Wednesday saw me needing a par on the last which is a nice downhill par three to get a 0.6 cut, cue the double bogey for buffer  Had 10 pars on Wednesday and 8 holes at 17 over inc a 9 with adjustment to a 7 for HC.

Won my matchplay tie today so round 4 for me now.

Your biggest mistake is getting ahead of yourself, never think about holes later in the round, guy in our fourball (plays off 19) does this when he is playing well and always seems to crumble.

Myself, I shot a 76 in less than favourable conditions, getting soaked a few times then blown dry. CSS went from 71 to 72 so got a full shot cut down to 7.7.
I started bogey, eagle, birdie, par and had a couple more birdies in there including a two but also a couple of doubles to bring the score back to something closer to reality. Might have been good enough for a section win so a few quid in the account anyway. Happier that I am heading back down towards 6 where I started a few years ago at my club.

not too bad a weekend. Had a big charity day on Friday, 9 holes texas scramble followed by 18 holes individual stableford. Won the texas scramble in the morning with 27.3 and won a nice four ball at ballards gore. Won the individual in the afternoon with 38 points with 4 blobs. Didn't think that score would get anywhere near with 96 people playing but won a bottle of red, Odyssey NO1 putter and nice big glass trophy.
Played at Forresters Park on Saturday as a warm up before playing them next week in an Essex Golf union comp. Beat everyone in my four ball and won a few quid out of it. 37 points off the whites with 3 blobs without ever seeing the course before. Need to get a handicap cut really.

Didn't play. Course down to 12 holes to allow helicopters to land for the racing. They've treated the greens apparently but they aren't in good nick. Some rumblings of discontent this morning. We don't have a comp for two weeks so plenty of time to have some social golf and get the swing going. Hoping the new clubs arrive by next weekend so I can get use to them and learn my yardages before the next comp

Played in our 36 hole Queens Highclffe cup today, teed off at 7.54 feeling a bit tired and stiff but went on to shoot a 78 net 62 and was the winner of round 1. Teed off for round 2 at 12.54 and played very steady golf until a double bogey, bogey finish to end with 86 net 70, the total of 132 net was leading for a while until 2 others came in with the same total. I ended up coming 3rd overall, so pleased with my golf today but gutted with the dbl bogey, bogey finish that stopped me fro picking up the trophy.
Looks like I will get a 1.5 shot cut for my efforts

We played in a club exchange competition at Ashton Under Lyne golf course, 4 ball best 2 scored stableford....our group scored 83 points......and won!!!! I've never won a competition before (or even come close), and although it was a team competition, I'm elated that we won and on a course that we've never played before :)

Unfortunately, the rest of my team can't make the presentation night....so I've got to go on my own!! Nervous isn't the word :-(

Played Saturday non comp but shot my worst score for years. Today 39 with 2 blobs! Finished 1st and cut 0.4.

What a difference 24hrs makes.

To an extent your right but when you are level par through the last 4 holes you should afford yourself the thought of par down the last ;)

36 hole scratch open for me but NR'd in the morning and didn't go back out in the afternoon. One thing I really struggle to cope with is slow play. We had 5 hours between morning and afternoon tee times, got in for lunch and one of my playing partners complained about only having 10 minutes to wolf his lunch down. But we were not held up once in our entire round and after 9 holes we were 2 clear holes behind the group in front. We were asked to pick up the pace as we were holding the entire field up.

And who was the slow person in the group......yes you guessed, the one complaining! I just don't get it sometimes

Played good in parts but had an explosion of anger after a bad break on the 9th. Bunkers were packed tight which caused me problems for some reason. Started off bogey-par-triple(greenside bunker farce)-Double(3 putt)-Double(3 putt)-Birdie-par-bogey and was roughly about on handicap then i reached the 9th and the meltdown began.

Hit a lovely tee shot low starting out left with the wind bringing it back to middle of the green and bounces short of pin and trickles slow motion into greenside bunker short sided and i walked off with treble absolutely steaming :D

Lost a ball down the right on the next hole 10th when it wasnt that far off line and by this point im fuming. Walks off that hole with a treble and onto the 11th tee.

Lose a ball on the 11th after driving through the fairway and walked off with another treble. I then NR'd on the 12th after pushing my approach into the bundu and a shocking lie unplayable.

Finished par-par-par-par-par-bogey after that

Club NETT championship Medal off the whites.....CSS 74......Shot 3 over my hcap 8 shots behind winner on net 69......6 pars but a disaster 'middle part of round and the 18th'.....holes 8,9,10,and 11 killed me shot 26 just on them holes and finished with a 6 on the par 3....I know exactly why...the MEDAL tees killed me(in the main) there its a totally different ball game with the 'pressure of the trees' upon you....so although my score was 'ok' ended up quite dissapointed knowing I threw away shots.....

No comps for me this weekend but played at Bothwell Castle on Friday and shot a 2 over par round after starting with a double bogey, then played yesterday and today in doubles and won comfortable so all in all a good weekend.

Got some stiff competition tomorrow night so hope the form continues

net club championships yesterday, didn't check css but expected it to be 75 due to high winds and rain. net 79 and 77 but i played well. what cost me was a 10, a 9 and 2 8's. if they were all par's i would have won. oh well, look on the positives.

Steady round for me Val'

Played to 13 in every conceivable form of weather apart from snow.

Wind was brutal, rain was plentiful and the course was set up pretty tough.

I'm hoping CSS does me a favor and goes up so I get more of a reduction :D

Interesting weekend......Friday was our annual Hockey Club Golf Society day at Mill Green.
couldn't do anything wrong and shot 40 points with a 2 over gross round which included a double bogie......shot 2 under gross on the back 9......won the trophy and £40 in vouchers....

Charity Cup on Saturday which is a qualifier........got soaked and had a melt down on the last 4 holes throwing 2 doubles in there including sticking it in the car park on 18 for the second time in a week.... Also hit my bag for a penalty shot when I had left it half way up the fairway on one of the holes.....to add insult to injury, it deflected it into deep rough..... missed buffer by 2 so up to 5.9

Today was the monthly medal.....strong winds so wasn't expecting a good score, however, I played really well and was just 4 over gross with 2 holes to go.......queue another meltdown and a bogie on the short par 3 was followed by a double on 18 when halfway through my downswing a guy on the next fairway shouted to his mate that he had found his ball........... I caught it heavy and it went in the lake...... Finished 1 over handicap when I should have been looking at a tidy cut.....

Happy overall but disappointed about missing out on a cut..... :(

Captains day on Saturday and came in with 38 points and just missed out on prizes for our division following a blob on the last. Cut to 19.0 but left a few out there and was surprised CSS didn't go up.

Got thrashed yesterday 5 and 4 in our summer 4BBB after going 2 up after 2. Got knocked out of the foursomes on Monday as well so maybe next year:D

Does anybody know why some clubs dont have many qualifiers? They must have some reasons or is it just laziness on their part? I cant see why clubs wouldnt want to have comps? Puzzles me.
