Was listening to Talk Sport and they were chatting about the 6 Nations and one guy saying it was in his top 5 sporting events/occasions. Got me thinking about what mine would be, so in no particular order they are......

1 - Football World Cup
2 - The Masters
3 - 6 Nations rugby
4 - Ryder Cup
5 - The Ashes

So what would your's be?

Was going to create a poll but figured there were far too many possible options.

Best I've been to

First day of the Ashes at Lords, Oval, Headingley, Trent Bridge
England six nations v Ireland (home and away)
England football away v Poland (so many reasons not connected to the game but a very personal and evocative trip)
British Open
Wimbledon tennis (as a ball boy)

On my bucket list
The Masters
The first day of an Ashes test away
First day of a test in New Zealand and West Indies
F1 in Monaco UAE or Bahrain
World Cup watching and following England to each venue (yes I know they'd ulitmately let me down but its the trip not the footie)
El Classico in Barcelona what a stadium and atmosphere

Based on what I enjoy watching on telly

1) Olympics
2) Snooker World Championship
3) Darts World Championship
4) World Cup
5) Ryder Cup

Ryder cup just edges the 6 nations.

Open Sunday
The Masters
World Cup Final (footy)
World Snooker Championship Final
BBC Sports Personality of the Year (for reasons of nostalgia)

The Ryder Cup
The Olympics - Athletics final day.
The Football World Cup final
The Rugby Union World Cup final
Final day of The Masters

As spectator events and in no particular order;

Champions League Final
Rugby League Challenge Cup Final
FA Cup Final
US Open tennis - night session
Speedway Grand Prix

6 Nations, nothing comes close for me. I enjoy watching other events and I suppose the Heineken Cup final is second, The Ryder Cup third, the Ashes fourth and the Open fifth but the 6 Nations is head and shoulders above, its the only sporting event that I plan my life around making time to watch it

What is this British Open you refer to?

The Open/Ryder Cup
Rugby Union - 6 nations/world cup
Tour De France
Biathlon/World Cup skiing
Superbowl

and I'd rather watch the tiddlywinks championship before Football
