I'm sure a few of you will have names not on this list, perhaps Langer and Monty to name just two outsiders, but in all likelihood, and barring a Stephen Gallacher 1st or 2nd this week, the choices will be from the seven in this poll.

Please pick you three choices, and no more, so we can see who the GM forum would take to Gleneagles.

*and by how, I obviously mean WHO would be your three picks....

Westwood , Poulter and Donald

If Gallacher does get in on Sunday via the points

Then McDowell instead of Donald

Poulter is the problem for me. The captain is on a hiding to nothing with this decision. He has shown no real form to warrant a captain's pick and so it will only ever be a decision made on past glories. If you pick him and we win then it is expected, pick him and we lose and the mistake was picking on past reputation and not form, don't pick him and we lose then it was all because Poulter was not picked.

In all honesty, I would not pick him as he really has done nothing this season (and I am a Poulter fan) but I expect that he will be picked irrespective.

My thinking too, but quite a few of our "top players" are in a similar position, and those who are quite close mostly seem to have gotten there at the start of the season (Fleetwood, Luiten etc)

I said Westwood, Gallagher and Jiminez.

I figure at least Westwood has had a few good rounds of late (particularly the USPGA), Gallagher did ok this week and will bring some Scottish blood to the table and Jiminez has at least won this season.

Another option could be Casey, he's won twice at Gleneagles (not sure on which course/s) and is in some decent form. Also, Paul Lawrie is Scottish and a past winner on that course, but I don't think he's playing well!

But to be honest I'm not entirely sure any of those 3 are the correct men for the job.

he was hardly in form going into previous RCs either, just think hes a no brainer based on previous RC form, have to accept his matchplay form different to his week in week out strokeplay form, dont think there will be any criticism of him being picked if we lose

Poulter, Westwood and Molinari for me. Not a fan of Poulter but I think that, much like Mickelson for the Americans if he had not automatically qualified, he just has to be picked.
