Mine happened quite a few years ago now. Not that I haven't many great moments since but this was still the best to date.

I was playing in the final of one of our KO comps. At the time I was off 18 playing an opponent who was off 6. We walked from 16th green with me two down. But I somehow managed to win 17 and 18 so it was back up the 1st (par 4) again.

My opponent was in for 5 and I had about a two foot putt for my 5 (net 4) as I had a shot. I could hardly hold the putter such were my nerves and emotions though. Even then I remember thinking if this is what it's like holing a putt for a club tin cup what on earth must it be like putting for a Major and squillions of spondulicks!

Anyway, I holed the putt and I walked on air for at least the next three days.

And yes, I did feel slightly bad about having the advantage of the shot - but only slightly :D

Last summer at North Berwick on the west links. We were just about to tee off on the 17th when a group of American guys walked by on the adjacent path. They stopped and waited for us to play. My mate A hit a nice one down the middle. Mate B hit a better one. I hit a real boomer - and got a round of applause, and a few whoops. Silly, but it made me feel great. Never had a round of applause before or since.

We had been following a group who were being a real pain. Poor golfers who wouldn't dream of calling anyone through. By the 16th they had lost a couple of holes and we were sitting on the tee waiting for them to negotiate their second shots over water. They dumped a couple into the lake and one guy was trying to retrieve this ball when he slipped and went headlong into the water.

They still didn't call us through but at least we finished with a smile on our faces.

Pyle & Kenfig - Par 5 11th. Hit good drive to carry f/w bunker on left (hole dog-leg to left) and then creamed a 6i to about 3 ft and made putt for my first eagle. Didn't care too much what happened after that!

I chipped in from the back of a bunker on Saturday (for par) and oh had a few birdies in my time too ! nothing special but if you are as bobbins at golf as me then you know why this makes me happy :)

we experienced something similar in Florida last year. 4 ball in front taking ages but we did not mind that much as we were on holiday but could not work put what was taking them so long on a simple par 4.

Anyway as they waved us through noticed they had a man down. Turns out he was in the middle of the lake sat in his buggy! Apparently he did not notice he went of the path and drove the buggy head 1st into the water! None of his mates were helping him as they were bent over backwards laughing!

The holes in one are always fond memories but like you my best moment was being 3 down with 3 to play against a 4 h/c and beating him on the 19th, I can still remember each shot.

Hope you didn't end up in that sneaky, hidden fairway bunker which lurks in wait for the sweetly struck drive. Both me and my partner ended up in there on Saturday :( Good the walkers stopped to watch- often they just walk on oblivious, meaning you have to wait for them to get well past and out of danger.

There are several but just to pick a couple

Winning the Help for Heroes at West Hill with a near faultless round is probably the tops. Also a winter league match 4bbb where I shot pretty much level par (12 h/c) and a hole in one.

I always say that as long as each and every round has one shot "worth getting out of bed for" , I'll carry on playing golf

I played last Friday and my 2nd on a par 5 was 234 yards with water on the right and a bunker left of the green. pulled out my 4 hybrid and it as soon as it left the club I knew it was a good shot. it flew high and straight and ended up 8 feet away. shame I missed the eagle putt though!

Your only faults that day were your playing partners :whoo:

Barton Cup Quarter final last year ,foursomes .. we were 2over par and 2 up playing index 1 16th ..

partners tee shot leaves me blocked out just right of the trees bout 140 to the middle , opponents in this by now tetchy match are on front of green in 2 , tricky green so 3 putt a definite possibility , sly just to be heard comment from 1 opponent was , ok we will have 2 putts for a win here .

Me and my partner have a chat and i said im confident i can draw a wedge round and get close to the green and we make them par it to win it , he just said go with what u feel , CAREER SHOT around the trees bounced just on the front of green and ended up on fringe at the back 12 feet from the hole ..

They bottled it 3 putted & my partner left me a 2footer for the win, dead centre , shake hands & get outa here , there was a great cheer from the large crowd now watching as the other matches had finished & it was all on our match , kinda glad i didnt know that beforehand tho ha ha

Quite a few but I'd probably pick the club championship final a couple of years ago. My opponent started like a train, birdied the first two holes and rattled me - I wasn't playing well and was 3 down after 5 holes. She hit the green on the difficult par 3 6th hole while I found a deep greenside bunker and was looking at the realistic prospect of going four down. Anyway, I holed the bunker shot, she missed her putt and the fightback was on!

Winning a GM meet at Hillside. Not only one of the best courses I've visited but also the best round I've ever played. With the GM photographer setting up shots on some of the tees and candidly around the course I have some great photos of the day too. Truly memorable experience I doubt will be repeated.

Two highlights for me:

I was playing Drayton Park a few years ago and was called through by a fourball on the short sixth (i think). I flushed a perfect 6 iron that finished about 18 inches from the hole which did make me rather chuffed! I was less chuffed at missing the putt though!

And making an eagle on the 8th at Teign Valley. Now, anyone who has played this course will know that this is not as difficult as it may seem but i was still chuffed with it!

You got it in one!! Plumb in the middle of it! Fortunately the gallery did not see that. And at least I now know the darn thing is there.

For me, it was my first birdie on a par 5.

Following that it was probably on my most recent round, where I was on a raised tee-off area, shooting downhill, gale-force winds.

I aimed my drive into the trees, and resulted in a glorious arching shot to finish middle of the fairway. It was probably my first really difficult shot, which was well thought out and executed.

It's the small things for us noobs!!!

Playing in the final of the club family foursomes competition with my old man.

We got beat 3&2, but it was terrific to be out competing with my Dad and I will never forget it.
