After a late spring what condition are your courses greens in? i ask the question as ours are humped, the green staff have put a treatment on them and now there just baked earth when you look at them close up from a distance they look ok but there shocking the ball bobbles all over the place.

They say it will be at least a month before there better by the looks of them there lost which is a great pity as our course is always been renowned for its greens.the rest of the course is not bad knick with the rough getting cut down it does help, but i won't be arranging in games on here at my place this year thats for sure.

Steve,

Ours are in great nick apart from the first on Rosemount it's taking a little longer to recover and growth is slow but it's getting there.
The rest are like carpets with a good true roll and surprisingly quick, in fact all courses are looking the best they have for a few years.

Ours are pretty tidy at the moment, same can be said for the course in general! Happy days after the horror of last winter!

After all the rain, and now a bit of sun and warmth they are in lovely condition in my area. Unfortunately the fairways are just as lush, which is great for a parkland course, but on a heathland course they should be firm and fast at this time of the year.

lee parks are not in great nick at the minute. I don think they are too far off. they actually need rain again wish seems crazy to type. we will enjoy the sun while we can! looking forward to lee park getting up to speed. it has a great reputation and im sure the greens staff are doing the best they can with the weather cards they have been delt.

birchy's place, daveyhulme were the nicest greens ive seen all year. good mix of sunshine and lots of rain in manchester doing the business.

Again they look good, they will not take a ball though from distance but I'm happy with all the course at the moment. The green staff have worked really hard in the off season and it's paying dividends.

Good to hear John ,the thing is ours were spot on during the winter and now there a mess there saying they it will be a month and to be patient, the club champs qualifiers are this weekend and next and there poor there trying to get the course ready for the women's home internationals in September.

Personally i think they've got there priorities all wrong ,yet again

Ours are fantastic at the moment, fast and true, infact the whole course has come on leaps and bounds in the last month and is looking and playing fantastic:)

They don't look pretty but they are putting quicker and are true. Firming up too so becoming harder to hold. New green keeper is doing a great job and we are only a year into a three year plan to get them back after the last guy almost lost them totally

Seems that mine are the only ones that are rank:(. was looking forward to a good months golf with plenty comps as I'm on weekends of from next week but don't think its worth it.

Ours are not good really. Too many bobbles, hops, skips and jumps.
Some of the ridges caused by Greens Manintainence over a month ago are still very much apparent on some greens
Putting's not a complete lottery but when you have a flat 3 ft putt that simply hits a ridge and veers 45 degrees left. missing by nearly a foot you do wonder why you're bothereing....
