We had Sandy Scott, who's now at a US collage and is off +5

but his younger brother is fast catching up.

he's 12 and barley 4ft tall, won the Sunday stableford this weekend with 41 points off 2 and so now down to 1. Pretty impressive.

We also have at least a dozen under 16 that are 2 and 3 handicaps

How are you clubs juniors doing?

I think we have about 3. Total.

2 juniors as far as I am aware at my place, one being my son. A healthier number at his other club, better junior section, but no outstanding players at the moment. A couple of young lads in the county have represented England at junior level recently and both went away last year on US golf scholarships. Jake Storey from Alnmouth GC and Matty Lamb from Hexham GC.

In the past you would have looked at their junior careers and fancied them to do something. Now the game is so competitive and brutal that who knows. Good luck to them all.

Judging from this year's results on the HowDidIDo app, I think there's only two juniors at our club. One plays off 26 and the other 44.

I'm a relatively new member at our club, but there is a junior academy which is always full.

The club offers one free Junior membership (up to 18 years old) to any full paying adult member, so they are obviously keen to develop young players.

Not sure if we've got any that are outstanding at the moment, but they do have a reputation for producing some decent junior players and teams down the years.

We've got one lad aged 19 who's in the England squad, plays off +4 and is in or around the world top 50 amateurs.
A couple who are around 20 who are county players, of +1.
Then it dries up a bit, with a few cat 1 lads who are 14-18 years old.

We have a few young cat 1 players ... maybe a handful. Every once in a while we have one who is good enough to get a golf scholarship for a college in the US, at least one of the girls is currently aiming for that. I think the most successful junior we ever had was Justine Dreher, who now plays on the LET. She played at our club until she was 12 or 13 and her parents moved to France.

Tom Lewis was our last to win on the European tour, but we have had a couple of junior international's recently and have a lad of 12 who played his first scratch team match recently I think he's off 3 just now but apparently his h/c is only going to go one way. I think we have a few other teens and pre-teens in Cat 1

We've got one 15 yo lad off of 3.9 and a couple of very fast improvers who are on the fringe of county age group squads but nothing to shout about overall. I think we're becoming a little bit more junior friendly at last and hopefully we'll see many more come through.

We have a 16-year old who is off 8 and that's only because his Dad is the captain and forced a general standard cut over the winter. He thinks he's God's gift to golf and is so far up his own arse, it's embarrassing. His dad put him in the scratch team to play a big match a few weeks ago over our top player which said it all.

The general consensus is that everyone wants the No.2 junior off 12 to win the Junior Club Championship this year like he did in 2016 and sent the other kid into a month long sulk.

We have an 18 year old closer to +1 than 1 and a raft of 10 to 14 year olds that are Cat 1 or very close to it. We have turned out a few pro's over the years, most notable one being Paul Casey, although our club was his away course during the summer.
