Say in the last two years for the more seasoned golfers. What's changed? And why?

For me. I started with my very first set from gumtree and spent most of my cash on lessons. Now I've caught the bug I've begun upgrading

Ping SI3 driver
Wilson pro staff irons 4-SW (about 20 years old, so old infact I can't find the model number. I've got a picture here if anyone can help identify! http://imgur.com/a/e7uEH)
Wilson putter
Hotblade putter
macgregor trolley bag
Hundreds of balls, mix of very good (pro v1s) and lake balls. Made sure I'm only using the lake balls for now!

Since then I've now got

callaway razr x black driver
callaway v series heavenwood and 5 wood
Same irons
Odyssey white hot pro #7
callaway warbird carry bag

next up in the coming months are some game improvement irons, not sure what kind yet but hopefully get some late February, was considering the mizuno JPX EZ irons or ping G25s

Last 2 years I've gone from:

Callaway X-Hot Driver
Callaway X-Hot 4 hybrid
Callaway X-14 irons
Callaway Jaws 58* wedge
Dunlop Putter

to

Titleist 910D2 (Though Jan is it's last month in the bag, being replaced with a nicely fitted driver courtesy of TourX in Feb)
Callaway XR 4 Wood
Callaway X Hot 4 Hybrid
Nike Covert Irons
Titleist Vokey SM5 gap wedge
Callaway MD3 58*
Scotty Cameron Futura X5

BIG changes. Mainly due to the fact that 2 years ago I was still a beginner and still in the process of learning the game, learning what I needed and improving. MUCH happier with my bag now, once I get the new driver and sort my wedge gapping out I'll be really happy with my clubs and can't see them changing for a long while.

In last 2yrs - nothing 9and the bag is the same also). In last 3yrs - my putter (and I only changed that because my existing one was 30yrs old and very unforgiving)

And only realised earlier today that I've had my irons for 10yrs (and having no thoughts of changing them)

I have changed from

Ping S55 Irons
Vokey Wedges
Scotty Cameron Circa 62.

To my current bag. Lost 5 shots on my handicap on the way

Last two years has seen my game go down into single figures! May 2015 I was off 13 now I'm off 8.9 - lowest I've been was 7.9! Hopefully will get lower than that this year!

2014 - 16 to 12 back to 13
Titleist 910D2
Taylormade Burner 3 wood
Adams speed 5 wood
Ping G10s 4-SW
Titleist 54d wedge

2015/16 - 13 to 9

Callaway 3 wood (stiff shaft)
adams 5 wood
Covert irons 2.0 - 4 -PW (reg)
Nike 52 wedge
titleist 54 wedge

2016/17
Changed my putter to a nike method (shot my lowest round ever) and got a nike hybrid to replace 5 wood! Unreal!
I've just changed my irons to nike pro combo's stiff shaft! Already showing so much improvement! I'm confident I will shoot low this year!

Last 2 years I've gone from:

Yonex E-Zone XP Driver
Taylormade RBZ - 3 wood
Taylormade RBZ Stage 2 - 3 hybrid
Yonex Z Force - 4 hybrid
Yonex Z Force - 5-PW
Mizuno MPT11 52* 56* and 60* wedges

Yonex Z Force - 4 hybrid (Probably next to be replaced)
Mizuno JPX900 Forged 5-PW
Callaway MD3 48* 54* & 58*
Scotty Cameron Futura X5R

Quite a few changes for me when looking at it. Very happy with my bag now though

My first ever set were some horrednous yokes from the dark ages and a Slazenger California 3 wood. I ditched those for my first proper bag

PingG15 Driver, 5W, 3 - SW, Odyssey #5

This time last year I changed almost everything except the driver and suffered the inconsitency of that plus swing changes. This year I don't intend to change a thing, except possibly the driver, but something else would need to seriously outperform it because it isn't misbehaving I'm just curious about extra yards...

How long have you got ?????? I'd be too embarrassed to list but finally i'm where i want to be and am happy and content. Being a recruiter i understand that it can sometimes take a lot of interviewing to find the perfect candidate , well it's the same with golf clubs!!!!! You've got to kiss a few frogs along the way. ;)

I've had massive changes courtesy of the double trade in offer!

Old set:

Tour Edge Exotics Driver and 3 Wood
Titleist 975F 5 Wood
Ping i20 irons
Titleist Vokey SM4 54 and 58 degree wedges
Scotty Cameron GOLO 5 S

New set:

Titleist 915 Driver and 3 Wood
TaylorMade M1 2 Hybrid
TaylorMade PSI Irons
Titleist Vokey SM6 50 and 54 Degree Wedges
Callaway MacK Daddy PM Grind 58 Degree Wedge
Scotty Cameron Futura X7

Probably a decade ago I bought a cheap Slazenger starter set from JJB Sports or something - D, 3W, 5W; 3i-SW, putter, bag and trolley. Used them for most of that decade since I didn't play much until about 18 months ago.
August of last year my dad bought me a set of Callaway Warbird irons, 5-SW.
In September I nicked his old Mitsushiba 7 wood as well.
In November I bought a Yonex Nanospeed 12 degree driver on Ebay for £50 to replace the Slazenger driver which I hated.
In December I had a putter fitting at EM Golf Studios and ended up getting a £144 Odyssey which is very nice.

That's it. Next I'm debating getting either a hybrid (as the 7 wood is very hit and miss), or a lob wedge (as SW is the smallest iron I have at the moment), or both!

in the last two years;

Same Irons
same Wedges
same Putter
Same 18 deg hybrid/2 iron
Same Bag

Driver....s
SLDR
CallawayXhot2 pro
Mizuno JPX850
TM M1
Titleist 915
Callaway DD 816
with multiple shafts in each

now M2 white tie

3 wood
Callaway Xhot Pro
Mizuno JPX 850
Titleist 915

JPX in the bag at the moment

Same 60 odd clubs in the shed - some stay there and others get a game from time to time.

The Wilson staff fluid fee irons from 30 years ago didn't get a game.

Started playing more seriously in the last 2 years - joined a club, couple series of lessons, so, after having mostly the same clubs for almost 10 years have gone through quite a facelift over the last year or so,

Out went Callaway X18 irons, Taylor Made TP wedges, Odyssey white steel putter, Ping Rapture Driver, Mizuno MP001 woods to be replaced, over a period, by what I have listed in my signature. Hoping that my bag will now last as I am really happy with them all, although the putter might need to improve to stay long term :D
