I went to AG in Slough today for a bit of a mooch. I decided to try the TM Burner on their monitor to see what my figures were (had no real intention of making a purchase). The young guy then suggested I tried the Yonex Nanospeed (10.5 degree neutral face, regular graphite). I can't remember what my swing speed was but I know it was 4 mph quicker with the Yonex and I was hitting it further (average 236 yards which is pretty good for me).

I was getting a decent ball flight and a touch of draw. I haven't seen or tried the Yonex before and have to say I was impressed. Anyone got any experience of these clubs as I have to say it was a decent club. It was a light club without losing the feeling of where it was in the swing and sat nicely behind the ball. The grip was a bit naff (most Yonex seem to be - my mate has nanospeed irons and very cheap grips on them) but that can easily be rectified.

All comments welcome

I have not used one however at drivertime ag near me a guy had one and i made a point of watching him and he hit it well without having to put too much effort in.

Thats exactly what iam after a easy to hit no effort driver i struggling at the moment with my Cobra i feel like i need to be on the ball everytime i hit it.

Next time i in if they have something near a spec i would use i defo going to give one a go.

Agree about the naff grips you expect alot more considering the price yonex irons/woods

I tried one at last years scottish golf show, it was only about 50 yards into a net (no monitor) but seemed like a good strong flight. It felt very comfortable to swing, i have thought about investing but i am happy with the sumo2.

I have the yonex nanospeed i and am very happy with it for the past 5 months. Very light to swing and easy to use. I choose it because it gave a narrower shot dispersion on my off shots.

The sound is ok- bit like a nail gun. But If you've tried the mizuno 560 your ears wont be hurting as much!

I can also work the ball reasonablly well with gentle fades and draws and get high an low trajectory (into the wind) at will which is suprising for such a forgiving club.

The distance is good too. With a controlled easy swing i can get 230-240 yards. I find swinging harder gives only 5-10 yard difference with less control.

I dunno why the reviews go on about the odd shape. I personally dont find it off-putting.

When i got my Wilson Dd6+ i tried the Yonex along side it and was very impressed with it. My personal preferance for the Wilson was the only reason i didnt get it.
Yonex make their own graphite shafts and they are widely renowned for their quality.

Hi Homer

I tried the Nanospped i at a recent demo day at my club. I tried it in regular flex which I was hitting the majority of my shots with a slice, I then tried it in the Stiff flex and what a difference. Now I do not have a fast swing which would benefit from the stiff flex but I was hitting every shot 220yds and more and every one of my hits with the stiff flex would have been on the fairway. Both drivers were 10.5*.
Sadly the pennies won't strech the allow me to purchase one yet, but I am saving as much as possible each month to allow me to purchase this awesome driver.

I think itm is the double kick near the head that helps give the extra distance.

Oh and I forgot,

It's also pretty nifty off the deck as well! That is if you've just duffed a tee shot onto the beginnings of the fairway....if such a thing occurs!

I really rate Yonex gear. I've got the previous version of the nanospeed driver & it stayed in my bag for quite some time & certainly wouldn't hesitate to get another Yonex driver or fairway wood.

Their irons are good too, wasn't sure about last seasons offerings but the new ones for 2009 look very good. Every bit as food as the 2007 ones.

I think it looks better than the square headed offerings from Nike and Calaway.

I love it (on most days) excellent distance and at address doesnt look like a sq headed driver though the mechanics are just that, I wouldnt mind the 3 wood as well at some point.

Good driver not 100% of the sound but does the job for me that the G10 couldnt.
