No I don't have a condition...

I just pondered the fact that I only ever seem to use that random yellow ball that always seems to be present in my bag in the winter and autumn months.

Funny baring in mind the course is covered in yellow leaves!

Anyone else have useless things in their bag?

I always carry three or four gloves even in the dry. It goes back to one splitting years ago and not having a replacement. I think that was the only time in my entire career a glove has split in play (loads have gone after practice or having got wet and been badly dried) but since then I've always carried several. What are the chances of more than one going in the same round

I always carry a Titleist yellow ball in my bag. Those last few holes in the gathering gloom are impossible without a yellow ball. Ditto for playing in the frost.

Draw the line at orange ones though.

Useless thing for me is a swiss army knife. I have carried this thousands of miles and never used it. I don't even need to sharpen pencils, as I use a biro to mark the card.

I always carry a yellow Top Flite in my bag. Never play with it, it's used only for when picking groups out of a hat using balls. Nobody ever has a yellow Top Flite :).

I always wondered why there isnt a more top line yellow ball, I mean they do make sense to a degree in frost and are easier to see in flight on a sunny day.

The Titleist ones are PTS arent they? I think I saw some that where printed DTS by mistake and where being sold off for about a tenner a dozen, wouldnt mind a dozen AD333 yellow balls.

Yellow balls stand out well on both a sunny day in the air & against a grey backdrop of a not so nice day. So albiet, the Leaves issue & the fact most of us might feel a berk for using yellow balls they are actually a good idea.

Mind you if you think about tennis & tennis balls, years ago they were all white... Well grey after a game or two. But then came the Yellow tennis ball. Now you see nothing but yellow tennis balls.

So if suddenly a lot of golf pro's on telly started using yellow golf balls, then I'd bet a pound to a penny, joe public would soon be following suit.

I'm pretty sure the manufacturers are missing a marketing trick. If Srixon for arguments sake repackaged the AD333 in orange/yellow and branded it for winter use I imagine there would be a significant pick up as it is a popular middle of the road ball. I'm surprised they went out of fashion as I use to sell dozens when I was in the pro shop.

As much as I love the 333's I dont think I would use one in the winter. I dont really have much trouble finding my ball though to be fair.

I wouldn't like to look down on a yellow ball, I feel it would put me off, dunno why. Maybe I should review one :D

I used to use yellow or orange balls all the time when I started playing 27 years ago. I don't see the problem, other than peer pressure from others who don't think they are fashionable.

Anybody remember the old ping half and half balls, they were even easier to spot? They did have some horribly lurid pink and purple ones though.

According to golf world, we will all be playing soon with football style hexagons printed on the ball, in any colour you like. Apparently, these are the next big thing, and will be launched next year. These make the white ball look more 3d, and it is supposed to be easier to see/hit. Watch this space....

I think that would be a bit of a waste seeing as I hit the small white one, with no large lines on it fine, but would bit a bit of fun though, a bit of a novelty.

Oh, and never play with orange balls. They are invisible on grass. I have lost these in the middle of the fairway before. You would think it would stand out, but no, not at all. Can't even see them in the air.

Can you still buy them? not seen any for ages, or maybe it is because they are invisible.
