4 birdies in a round isn't exactly going to rewrite the record books but having them on all 4 par 5's today made the round kinda special as the wind was up and I can't remember birdying all of them before in the one round. In a way it kind of feels like I had a hole-in-one, if you know what I mean, especially as I've snookered myself lately by not carrying a 3-wood :p

2nd hole playing 507, straight into the wind. Hit driver leaving 240, hit another driver off the deck, still 10 yards short, chipped to 9 feet and made the wobbly downhiller - birdie 1

7th hole playing 569, slight crosswind, driver leaving 260 another driver off the deck to 8 feet but was actually on the fringe, chipped just past the hole and tapped in for birdie no2 (probably should've putted it but after seeing Tom Watson etc etc... decided on chipping it)

10th hole playing 489 into the wind, driver leaving 240 off an uphill lie, hit driver off the deck yet again and carried to the back fringe of the green, chipped down and holed the 3 footer for no3

14th hole playing 525 little bit of wind from the left, hit driver leaving 220 to pin, gripped down a 5 wood and tried to cut it in there using what wind there was, landed at the front of the green leaving a shocking 30ft uphill/sideslope putt, only got it to 8feet but made the putt for birdie no4

Would have been a good round had I not bogied most of the other holes.. LOL :p Definately one I'll remember though.

Nice one.

East Sussex, I presume ?

It was kinda windy today, wasn't it. I managed to skive a bit this afternoon myself at very short notice.

Didn't warm up at all. Played Waterhall ( Still not a fan tbh ) and managed a first ever myself - an Eagle. All these years, with a few decent rounds every now and then, and never an Eagle before.

But then again, I never used to four putt either.

:o

Well played though - see how it helps the mind playing with decent players :)

Driver off the deck is impressive, I've not been able to do it properly since getting rid of my old Callayway Warbird.

The new drivers may inspire confidence off the tee but sat behind the ball when it's on a tight fairway?? Best I could hope for would be a 40yd necky cut!!!

Good shooting especially in the wind. Not sure about not carrying a 3 wood personally but I guess you have extra wedges. If I was going with a 3 wedge combo (52, 56 and 60) it would be the 5 wood that goes as I need my 3 wood around my course

I'm not surprised at your driving exploits James - after watching some of your drives at Charthan Park.
As Smiffy says, awesome!
Just a bit more practice on your short game now :D
you know it makes sense :D :p
