hey all,

my club - Sandford Springs - have recently got the excellent FlightScope ball tracking system. On Friday I had all the yardages worked out for each of my clubs. Most of the yardages I thought I hit were about 5-10 yards out - but I could hit my lob wedge and sand wedge 20 yards further than I thought I could! This makes a huge difference to me now when hitting into the green.

Highly recommend getting this done if you have the chance. Knowing the exact carry yardage you can hit each club and skycaddie is a deadly combination. I've put a bit of a longer write up here.

Cheers
Nick

Like most golfers, I have an idea of how far I hit each club, but I'd love to spend an hour or so with one of these working everything out properly.

Did you hit 3/4 and punch shots as well?

been wanting to do this for ages, anyone know where there is one of these based near to the southeast side of london / kent/surrey borders? (in short bottom left of m25)

Just full shots with all clubs. I had already gone through and worked out distances for each wedge with a 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 swing (after reading Dave Pelz short game bible). It is certainly easier to do with wedges manually as you can see pitch marks into the green etc.

Kingsclere's not that far from me actually. I'd be quite interested in this, (even though I don't find I have a problem with my distance control...it's my direction that tends to be appalling!!)

You are single figures? You shot gross 76 the other day? ..and yet you don't know how far you hit your clubs?

I find that particularly weird.

Only just single figures since that round having been cut. Have been stuck on 10 for around 9 months. I always had a rough idea how far I hit each club - for example I thought my 7 iron went about 150. It actually goes 144 carry with 149 total. The carry is a good thing to know if you need to hit it over a bunker to a flag at the front and it is 142 to clear the bunker.

I do feel slightly stupid for not knowing my lob wedge and sand wedge distances until now. I never really used to hit a full shot with them though.

I only know my rough distances in yards, but play my own course so often i basically know what club it is, just adjusted for conditions. Inside 70 yards i play it by eye/feel anyway

i'd love to spend an hour going through it all in detail.
Anyone know of one in the west mids??

I've just started using new clubs so I'm getting used to the new yardages. I am a reasonly long hitter considering that 1. I'm a high handicap and thus inconsistent and 2. I don't take anywhere near a full backswing.
