Hi all,

My brother in law has just bought some Taylormade MB Forged irons (4-PW) stiff S300 shaft +1 inch. Second hand.

I understand that this is normal to not get the SW with the set?

Just wondering what the normal SW would be to complete the set & if anyone has one for sale?

Cheers

Drew

All depends on what gapping he uses - I have the MC's and the PW is 46 degrees so have a 50 degree gap wedge and a 54 degree wedge which I use as my SW

Drew, it all depends on the lofts of the irons he has.

Normally I would think 56 degrees is around the SW mark.

I currently have a Mizuno MPT-11 in chrome that I don't use and about to upgrade my wedges to will have another Mizuno MPT-11 (black nickel) going if he's interested.

(EDIT)
Slightly too late. LP beat me to the punch

Ok, just looked them up & appears the PW is 47 degrees. From there without getting measured etc & going into HUGE details & investigations, what would be a sensible loft for SW? 52?

All depends on what gaping he wants - for me I would suggest a 50 then a 54 degree GW and SW then a LW at 58

Personally if I had PW at 47 I would probably go for 52, 56 and 60 which is my current set up. My old PW was 46 hence the gaps I had. Not sure the 3 degree difference between 47-50 is enough. But that's my opinion.

My new PW is 43 which is why I'm upgrading my wedges this weekend.

This.

Don't see the point going from a 47 to 50. 3 degree is too small a gap. I'd go 47, 52, 56
