Sorry, I couldn't be any more vague in the title :D

Anyway, I'm awful with a driver and my 3 wood is hit and miss and costing me too many shots. I'm currently using a 20 degree Cobra hybrid off the tee with pleasant results however I'd like a lower degree one for a bit of extra distance.
Looking for something 15, 16 or 17 degree which will give me a bit more scope, I've heard good things about the the Adams hybrids but open to anything really

Have u considered a 5 or 7 wood? Only reason I say that, sometimes when I look down at a hybrid on the tee it looks a bit small... I am toying with adding a fairway wood 4 or 5 to have as my secondary from the tee, the money club that is 99% accurate... (I wish!)

Not really though about those to be honest, I assume they're easier to hit than driver and 3 wood?
Weird thing is I prefer smaller headed clubs for some reason, my driver (Cobra S3) just feels like a massive loaf of bread at the end of the shaft :D, the 3 wood feels better (Cobra S2) but I'm so wild with that thing at times even though I was hitting it very well at the range. Lost about 6 balls on the first 4 holes using the 3 wood yesterday, reverted back to the hybrid and lost zero.

A 5 wood will probably be of more use than a lower lofted hybrid.
15-18 degree hybrids are not as easy to hit, generally, as 20-24 degree ones.
If you're struggling with a 3 wood then a 15-17 degree hybrid might not be much better.
Seek out a 19 degree 5 wood....

Or you could catch up with a Pro and find out why the 3 wood goes sideways.....

Don't be put off trying a lower degree hybrid as I have the same problem as you off the tee. I've gone to a 14 degree Taylor Made Duel rescue which I can hit as far as my 3 wood on a good day (200 - 220 yards) with most of them now staying on the fairway :).

The shorter shaft has defiantly helped me but I'm planning on having some lessons with the big dog now the qualifying comps are coming to an end and I can keep practising with it over the winter months.

3 weeks ago I won my first board comp. with the biggest club in my bag being an 18 degree rescue, I also had my handicap dropped 2 shots so keeping the ball on the fairway has proved the point.

Garyinderry has a peach of an Adams tight lies 15deg hybrid/fairway cross. That's the best I can describe it. He rips it! Maybe worth a look. Other than that, I have a 18 deg callaway diablo draw bias 5 wood (reg flex) in good nick, yours for £35 posted. Can post pictures if needs be.....

I can't really find anything better than my rbz 3 hybrid off the tee, and trust me I've tried ALOT

I'm not getting on with my 3 wood but I'm not missing it as its becoming extremely rare that I need a club between the driver the 3 hybrid so it may end up going the distance

Had a very rewarding weekend, 0.6 cut on Saturday, 1.8 on Monday, hit nothing longer than a 4 iron, distance is not everything.......... at least for a while

After 6 years of playing this beautiful game I think it's finally sunk in that what you say and everyone else have tried telling me that distance isn't everything could be true........ (slow learner, stubborn headed ex-rugby player that believed power was everything):o.

Had a mooch around AG in Peterborough earlier, it was really to get a feel for the difference between 5 woods and hybrids of a similar angle.
Clubs which struck me as nice to hold and confidence giving were the Taylormade RBZ #3 hybrid and Titleist 910H hybrid which was used and at £60 The RBZ was the standout though, it was kind of nice and chunky feeling if it makes sense.
Both had the money in my pocket fighting to get out :D
I already have a 20 degree hybrid (both these were 19) which kinda put me off in the end...must resist.

I can recommend a 5 wood

I have an r580 taylormade 5 wood and its great, titanium too so it sounds good

On the first at my in laws place I hit it 5 yards shorter than my father in laws driver with bugger all effort
