Neither, they are self contained units, play your round and plug in to a PC or Mac and then you can check your shots etc. and 'publish' to the Web, at which point and all your data / info is viewable on the available apps

The one's you're looking at are the versions which need a smart phone I reckon (don't have the tagging device). Original GG go for more in general.
