As discussed in my thread on average golfers using a better players club, I'm looking to see if i get on with this type of club.

I'm after a good looking, probably cavity back club (not a blade) with a good quality stiff shaft that offers a penetrating (not high) ball flight.

I'm 6'4" and my current clubs are .5" long and 2ºupright - although they were not properly custom fit.

Got around £20 - £25 to spend so that should get me something 2-4 years old.

I've got an MP-33 6 iron, which is 1/2" long and 2deg upright. Gorgeous looking club in the flesh.

It's a blade though.

I can't remember what shaft is in it, but I'll have a look later if you're interested?

If you go into a golf shop that has demo clubs, you may well find a bucket of ex-demo irons for sale for about £10 each. My local shop has Taylor Made irons, including some TP and Callaways for sale, and I have seen the same in other shops.

cheers for the link andiritchie - i've just contacted the seller to see what he's after for it.

region 3, i'd be interested, but only if it was within budget. nice looking club, but probably too much blade - i could buy it and butter my toast with it :o)

It's that shiny that the butter wouldn't stick to it!

I'll have a look at what shaft's in it later and get back to you.

It will be within budget :)

Yes, I have to agree. I see 6 and 7 irons all the time (ex demo)...I'm sure one will pop up sooner or later.

I tried an R9 for a laugh the other day....no wonder Homer sold his set. Looks forgiving, but plays less friendly - the opposite of a Doberman or Rottweiler. :)

I can do pics later if you want.

Call it a tenner and I'll buy myself a pint out of the change from the carriage, assuming I can haggle a box to put it in from somewhere .

Since you naughty people didn't host any photos I thought that I should just so that the thread doesn't get pulled.

The stunning Machrihanish Dunes, granted it has sod all to do with this thread but its a picture!!:D :D

you're not wrong! fantastic looking holes. you played it?

once i've mastered my new mp33, i may use this thread as the inspiration to go and play the course :)

If this whole using better irons thing comes off, i already have my eyes on a set of custom fitted mp58s. i think they'd enjoy the trip to machrihanish :)

And... i've surfed on that beach. with dolphins joining in the fun and everything. amazing place!

bargain and it's set up the same as my current clubs... looking forward to delivery. cheers for the pics region3. soooo excited about this newest development in my young golfing career :)
