Is anyone a member or played at Wrotham Heath? I have been looking in to joining, and was wondering what practice facilities they have? I've sent the secretary an email, but not heard back yet. I did play there a long time ago and loved the course, but can't remember much about what's there.

Thanks,

Tom

I played there on a reciprocal and really enjoyed it. Quite tight in places but good fun. If you join, there are reciprocals with Ashford, Bearsted, Sene Valley, Tenterden, Canterbury, Possibly North Foreland and Walmer & Kingsdown - weekdays for about £20.

it has been a year or two since I've been there, but there is a short game area alongside two holes (1st&10th) I think. There is also a small field just past the 1st tee, I think this is limited to around 200 yards.

I know someone who works there so can try and get some more information, if required.

Out of interest have you looked at any of the other clubs in the area?

Hi Dave, yes I did look at other clubs, but was very interested in it being a sand based course with good drainage. I know Kings Hill is pretty similar in terms of drainage, but I find Wrotham's course much more interesting. The only other sand based course near me is the Ridge, but from what I've heard it's not great. Currently at Lamberhurst, but it's been shut or on temps most of the winter.

I've played the ridge a few times over the past 12 months and thought it was a decent course.
I've used the range there a few times as its 4 miles from my house. I've heard a lot of bad things about the condition of the greens and bunkers, and also that it had gone down hill. I played in a match against some of the members a few years ago and they were all going to West Malling. Maybe things have improved? I'll have a round there to see what I think.
