Anyone watching?

quite remarkable stuff from the king of tarmac, just off the Dakar, "retired" some years back, yet here he is again. Ogier must be feeling rather embarrassed, how many WRC's would he have won if Loeb kept going?

Also all the kids, young Solberg, young Rovanpera, and I have a sneaking suspicion this could be Evans' year, time for a Welsh World Champ.

Whatever happened to the WRC?

I feel like it used to be everywhere when I was younger. Colin Mcrae, Tommi Makinan (sp) were both household names and their cars were iconic.

Now I very rarely see it mentioned anywhere.

Yup. For some reason it just isn’t popular despite being brilliant to watch and the driver skill level immense. I can only put it down to each race being too long in the “kiss me quick” age we live in.

It's suffered the fate of many sports, and been lost by the BBC's pursuit of throwing all their budget at EPL highlights, now you'll find WRC on ITV4, or youtube channels like Dirtfish.

It's not the way to get publicity for any sport, as golf knows only too well.
