If you were offered a magic driver that took 25yds off your current yardage, but hit the middle of the fairway every time..
would you take it ?

Being middle of the 6th fairway at Royal Fleetwood is no good, there's a bunker there so It'd be no good!!

Probably not because I'd need to hit my other clubs an extra 25yrds

No. I'm only averaging around 225 yards as it is. I would love to get my FIR over the current 41% mark from 2015 but losing that much distance would seriously affect my ability to get up on a lot of par fours

No I average about 60% of fairways anyway with maybe only a couple a round forcing me out of shooting at the green. My best year when I was playing more was 72% of fairways for the year and not exactly short.

I Would sooner hit 8-7 irons into greens with a few scrambles for par from the rough, over hitting a 4iron into every green.

Now if you had said loose 25 yards but make every up and down I would of ripped your arm off!

Sounds like a 3 wood!

No because

1. I'm not too bad in terms of hitting the fairway off the tee with my driver
2. Losing 25 yards would leave me too many long approaches giving me more chance of missing the green

Nah - if I wanted to be 25 yards shorter would just take the 4wood

I think the answer is to keep your existing driver, and then figure out why your not hitting the ball straight.
