I know it's a bit of a cliche but if you were playing a friendly round of golf with, say, a prospective new boss/client/father-in-law(!), would you let him win?
Have been told to do it numerous times through work , my boss would have people down & be treating them to golf & id be told entertain them dont beat them .. not always easy as some of them were rubbish ha . one exception is when we sponsor open day in the club thats an official comp so its played straight up , happend to play with an old boy one day in the open day comp that i had previously let win in a knock about ,He said to me in front of the boss that night at the presentation (id finished 2nd) this lad has improved greatly it must have been the advice i gave him that helped , nearly burst out laughing . the old boy is still a good customer & i got a well done nod off the boss so happy days .. every1 winsI know it's a bit of a cliche but if you were playing a friendly round of golf with, say, a prospective new boss/client/father-in-law(!), would you let him win?
.... but I would never lose deliberately.
