Our clubs medal this weekend have a promo from titleist... Buy any dozen box of balls from them and if you beat your handicap you'll get another dozen free!!!

Quite a good deal if you're in form obviously they're doing it in the knowledge most players won't.

Think it's just standard prices too so £40 for pro v1 etc

All depends how how confident you are and how you deal with pressure.

If 1 you are planning on buying 12 ProV1s and 2 you are playing in the comp anyway, it's a steal ie something (the chance to win when beating your handicap - about 5-10% normally) for nothing.

Otoh, a bit of fun and added pressure with huge bar room bragging rights (and even bigger ones on here!)

Yeah I think I'm gonna go for it- as people say it's a bit of fun and basically a bet to nothing... Normally I grudge paying what pro v's cost but a little bit of added value makes it a bit more worthwhile.

I don't think it's going to make me feel under any more pressure. Will keep y'all posted

If you've got some balls then do it, otherwise it sounds a bit pointless to me.

The challenge is beat your handicap not shoot under par, many courses have 1 under par still 1 above CSS which would not be beating your handicap

I was striking the ball well in tough conditions but putted terribly and shot 1 over handicap nett 71 BUT I shot 36 points and projected css is 71?!

Does this mean I should get a cut if css stays at 71?

I forgot to ask the pro the rules on it.

par 70? then your 36 would be a net differential of -1 compared to the CSS and get a cut unless I've had a brainfart
