I pay £70 a month so just under £850 a year, feel like Ive used it less than usual this year but still expect Im under a tenner a game, and that doesnt include matches for the club use of reciprocals etc

Better dash, off to hit balls then amble 9 :)

£700 for a year, played around 25 times, so something like £28 per round.
Its £20 walk up, £10 after 6pm, and £10 in the winter so I'm not getting value for money as such.

Just paid my 2016 subs of 1245 (including bar levy and EGU subs). A conservative estimate would be 90 rounds per year, equating to 13.83 per round. Visitor fee is 55.00, so very much worth it for me. Additionally, well over half of my golf is played on saturdays, and no visitors are allowed on saturdays.

Up until 2013 this would have been a resounding YES
Probably playing 100 full or part rounds
At a cost of £600'per year

After 2013, redundancy, huge change in work hours now ( self employed )
Also a real bad shoulder injury
Meant I didn't have as much time to play

2014 would have played about 30 times Max
This year 20-25 rounds

Finding myself a fair weather golfer, now, which I've never ever been before.
Easier to find an excuse NOT to play, which is most definitely never been the case in the past
Interest has dropped dramatically, and I am also looking around, considering a move, and contemplating a flexi ( associate ) type , pay as you play, membership.

So in purely monetary terms, to answer the question on value, then NO

I'd be really interested to know what the age breakdown is or more importantly whether people have kids that are below a certain age get value for money. If I was retired or didn't have young children I'd play 2/3 times a week. As I do I'm lucky to play three times a month...

£550 a year for me and I'll play the thick end of 120-130 times in the year plus rounds on the short course...
Probably costing me not much more than 3 quid trip to the club.
Hard to beat really.

About £20 - £22 compares favourably to the weekday greenfee of £40. But like others have said, most of my golf is at weekends and it's members only, so there is no opportunity to play on a simple greenfee.

I'm reverting back to full membership at my previous club plus my country membership as well means I'll be forking out over £2k next year so quite clearly no in a purely financial sense but to me it's worth it overall for the benefits.

Rejoining Broadstone Gordon ? I am free most weekends.

Surprised the memories of being stuffed there recently would have put you off.:)

Our subs are around £1150, I'm at about £5.50 a round. Guess rate is £20 and visitor is £30/40

i spend at least £1000 a year behind the par. Probably nearer £1500. If I take that into account it works out at £12 a round with free food and beer :-)

Louise said she really enjoyed Slasher's company and is looking forward to inviting him back again :ears:

Mines probably a yes its worth it.
annual full membership if £520, although this year as Captain, I get Honorary membership

This year since April I have played at least once in the week and every weekend in Comps.

Last year, I think I played about 8 rounds over the year

Last complete year, September to September.

Years membership (husband and wife) at UK club = £1350
Years membership (husband and wife) at Oz club = £600
3 months green fees Southern Spain (husband and wife) = £1000

This did mean that I spent 90% of my golf playing in 20 degrees +, in the sunshine, having lunch on the terrace, or a gin and tonic overlooking the sea.

The other 10% was spent hacking it round in the drizzle/wind/hail during the summer, maybe a pint in the bar with a few mouldy old Brits.

. . . it was a bit pricey.

That has now reduced to 100% playing in 20+ degrees, for £600 per annum (husband and wife) membership of a championship course, with an a' la carte restaurant, coffee bar, sports bar, cocktail bar, beachside location - kookaburra's and kangaroos's.

Bargain!

:ears:

Quite simple really, a definite yes no matter how many rounds I play, have never seen the need to work out what each round costs me.

As you cannot rock up and pay a green fee for most of the times I play there isn't a valid equation to consider.

I've also played around 20 away match fixtures this year and don't know either the appropriate green fees or if they were available (I suspect most weren't)
