Today was our June medal, a little windy and the rough is brutal in a few spots but otherwise a lovely day for golf.

Couple of groups ahead of us, some one on all accounts took 28 (Twenty Eight) shots on a pretty straight forward 350 yard par 4.

Anyone know of worse?

13 on a Par 3, tee shot into bunker, 9 to get out and a 3 Putt, not me😃

Npe, but then you would hope most normal people would have NR'd way before reaching 28. There was a guy at Ascot who had 2 or 3 13s or 14s in a single round but never seen anything higher than that

Seen plenty of double figure scores, had a low-teen number on a par 5 years ago without a penalty or lost ball....
28 is going some!

That is some going to rack up a 28. You won't find many players completing the hole before they get anywhere near that score. One of my mates, a 12 handicapper, always has trouble with our SI 1 which has OOB left and right. A few weeks ago he lost his first 5 balls OOB to a variety of hooks and power fades but had to NR before he was 11 off the tee as he had run out of balls. He did learn his lesson though and now plays his 3 wood off that tee.

Kellfire sent me a photo of a lads scorecard that played in a medal at his place today, plays of 23, 33 is the par for the front 9.

He shot 85!

He had a 12, 15 and a 18 on the front 9!

Had a 10 on a hole at Wimbledon Common during their Open a couple of years back and still shot a 78 for 8th gross. Never had more than a 10 since I started playing regularly though but I do recall my 2nd ever hole as a kid was an 11.

I've played with 2 people who have had over 20 on a single hole. If you fancy a laugh there is a section on my club's website (address in my signature) called "I'm a bad golfer, get me out of here" some tales of woe in there although nothing as bad as 20+ I don't think.

I posted some time ago about one of our players (27 handicap) who racked up a 23 on one hole in a medal. He was also the player who, one week earlier, had scored 2 for 0 for 7 points on the par 5 5th and followed it up on the par 4 8th with 2 for 1 for 5 points.

There is absolutely no excuse for posting a score that high on a hole. People should know their game well enough to know when the card is screwed and they should just pick up and play the rest of the round as stableford.

Played with a guy who took 15 on a short par 3 over a pond but did hear one of the new members had a 16 on a par 4 on Saturday. Not sure which is worse to be honest.

To flesh this one out a bit...

The 15 was on the first hole...

And on the hole where he took an 18, he was 13 (THIRTEEN!!!) off the tee. He hooked the first six out of bounds before putting the driver away and taking an iron.
