As I was thinking about the best shot I'd ever seen I also considered the worst...

I was at St. Andrews watching the old Dunhill Cup team competition. Jarmo Sandelin topped his tee shot off the 13th straight into a gorse bush about 10 yards away. Amusingly terrible!

Watching a professional hit a duff always provides some entertainment! I seem to remember Darren Clarke and Ian Poulter hitting shanks live on tv.

As I mentioned in the post about the best shot ever, Rocca's duffed chip on the 18th at St. Andrews when he *had* to get up and down to force a play off was pretty awful. Fortunately, the next shot more than made up for it!

His hat only blew off because the involuntary twitch at the top of his backswing was so bad it reverberated throughout his entire body!

Remember several years ago Mark James topping it into the clag off the last tee in the Open somewhere then being asked afterwards in an interview how far it had gone. His answer, "I was looking for it, not pacing it out!"

Didn't Nick Price top a three wood in the '81 Open...

The worse shot for me though was Mickelsons attempt to hit the 18th green in two during the final round at Winged Foot. Appauling course management and he's never really been the same since

Enjoyed watching Baddeley shank it OB off the tee in a US tour event last year, also have a strong recollection from about 20+ years ago of Howard Clark topping one off a tee and into bushes 15 yards in front on live tv.
