Poor Putting, it can get to all of us from time to time.

Played the 2nd round on the club champs on Sat and had nine 3 putts and one 4 putt and shot 84 gross!!.

That’s 31 puts for 10 holes!!!!

I doubt I’ve struck the ball better esp with my irons. I can excuse one of the 3 puts due to a walker coming up from the beach by the 2nd green who decided to do her Dom Jolly Impression with her mobile phone.

Decelerating on all of them according to my playing partner. Played yesterday in the Moray and Nairn League and won my match and even had 3 birdies, which brought back some confidence.

So what’s your worst putting performance?

Had my worst of a year or so last weekend. I was in a fourball team. We were very slow, my PPs were all over the place; I was hunting for at least two PPs balls off each tee shot - and all the way up holes much of the time. When we reached the green none of my 3 PPs seemed capable of getting the ball up to the hole.

And so all that put together I rushed my putting, starting getting jittery and lifting head etc and was hammering my putts past the hole. A mess. But all my own fault. A bundle of three putts and a couple of fours when my putting is possibly strongest part of my game. But that is past and put down to experience.

I had a 4 putt once from about 15'
Camberley Golf club.
I'm surprised the flag didn't fall out of the hole it was on that much of a slope

40 putts every time I played- would miss the whole cup from 2 feet:eek:

I was trying to utilise the 'correct' method of rocking the shoulders, ball left of centre, toe hang putter for my strong arc blah blah blah

hit the putting green and let nature and comfort take over........

Mallet putter
Putt with the arms not shoulders
Ball right of centre

it's a joy to see putts falling or at least scaring the hole now- bad round is around 31 putts:cool:

Played veralum recently and the greens are much faster and slopey than I am used to. I think I had 8 x 3 putts.. So many putts looked like they would finish close but just kept going and going....There nothing worse than a 3 putt bogey from 10 foot :-(

How about one from 5?

Probably as bad a putting day as I can remember yesterday 37 putts probably not helped by the fact that I hit a lot of greens in regulation combined with the "Sunday" pin positions we had!

yep playing in the first round of our 'B' Champs on Thursday night and couldn't buy a putt all evening. That, despite having putted well for the past few rounds and put lots of practice in. Left some lag putts 12 feet short 3 putts all over the course. Demoralising, and led to the inevitable handshake on the 13th ! Still at least the Sun was out and company was good :)

Then went out last night for a few holes and played 8 holes in 2 over par - which is unheard of for me. Golf is weird.

I finding that this year more greens = more putts!

3 of us were playing at blue mountain and on the Par 4 12th hole 2 of us Drove the green in 1 (short hole, nothing special) and the other elected to hit a 7 iron to 150 yards in. Cue lots of piss taking about bottling it. We both ended up 4 putting for bogey and the player who took an iron got par.

I once 5-putted our 1st green for a triple bogey 7. Played the next 17 in +3.

Worst overall was the day I shot 84 with 42 putts. Horrific day - hit the ball pretty well but could not score at all. That was the day I decided I had to go and get a lesson.

I don't record stats as such - maybe I should - but I recall a 3 putt from less than 3ft last month. Twitched in the stroke and jabbed it. So second putt was a 5 footer which I shied scared of and didn't hit, meaning the third was another squeaky-bum three footer. In fact, it nearly stopped, and if the bum hadn't squeaked, it might not have gone in

I had 39 putts in a round at the beginning of April including 5 x 3 putts, on of which was from about 2 feet

the following week I had just 24

Does everyone count how many putts they have had ?

Nope, not me. I have a vague notion of how many I've taken though, but I don't actively count them.
