Just watched that happening live this morning, can't figure out how both Mcilroy and his caddie messed up the line.
I assume he meant to hit it firmer to get over the ridge and break left, but it didnt reach the crown and broke right..
Not many times you see a Pro take a Wedge after a putter

I can do that with my Driver but not my putter
A slightly underhit putt on a fast green, it happens.
Yet noone mentioned the fantastic bunker shot from the first round.

I played in a four ball at Abama in Tenerife and two of the guys putted out of bounds because the greens were that fast!

The 4th Green at Aberdour can be a card wrecker. On numerous occasions I have seen players putting off the green and into the greenside bunkers. Not unusual to 4 or 5 putt

Smiffy missed a putt from 2 inches at Forest Pines, hit it with one hand and it horseshoed... the man is CLASS!!!

Not even close to the worst ever putt, but one where an error was grossly amplified and made the player look stupid. You get that on hogs back greens, where you can miss your aim by a few inches and end up 40 feet away from the hole.

Such fine margins in the pro game though. OK he looked like a 28 chopper on this occasion but how often do they hole from miles or deal with three different breaks on different grains and knock it close.
Great from a comedy perspective for us mortals and funny reading the comments on Twitter but I doubt it'll be the worse putt ever. Didn't Hale Irwin have an air shot on the green in an Open. That has to be worse, whiffing it
