Worse game ever!

I decided to have a round solo today, on the first joined up with another to make two. Started off hitting the ball really clean and straight, it was really windy so made an ok start. Then it fell to pieces, I mean absolutely out of the window! I carded a 10 on a par 3 followed by a 9 on the following par 4. At one point it all added up to 16 over in 3 holes. This is coming off the back of 95, 91 and 90 consecutively so I feel pretty rubbish about todays round. It was like I forgot how to hit a golf ball at times. Really stressful and tiring today, oh well back on the horse as they say! Sorry to rant

The weekend was our club championship. I’ve regularly been posting scores in the mid 90's and Friday evening in a practice round shot 90 so was hoping to do well.
Oh how wrong could I have been!!

On Saturday over 3 holes I had 31 shots!!!
3rd Par 5 S.I 1 – 10 (3 off tee and hacked my way to the hole)
4th Par 4 S.I 3 – 9 (3 off tee, 5th shot onto green was not my ball so 2 shot penalty)
18 Par 5 S.I 10 - 12 (2nd shot OOB, 3rd into base of a tree, 5th into lake, 4 putted).

Now these holes are normally my ‘good’ scoring holes and have never had any major problems, normally come away with nothing worse than a double but Saturday I was putting the ball in places I have never been in my life.

Apart from the above the rest of my game was great, 7 Pars (a PB for a round) got up and down more times than ever before, just those 3 holes ruined me!!

HA HA, Gross 103 Net 81.
i got cut alright but that was from lager in the bar.

I'm guessing it is all to do with putting too much tension on doing well. In the OP's case it was probably trying not to look foolish in front of a stranger and in the case of Steve79 probably trying way to hard to match previous scores.

I have to say to my amazement my putting was ok throughout, I just managed to hack my way round. Its not been that bad for a while!
