Anyone got any tips for getting these badly worn spikes out of the these Nike shoes. They're so worn I can't get the tool in the holes to twist them out, these shoes have one winter left in in them so I'd like to be able to switch the studs to keep the grip.

As opposed to trying to get into the holes, which usually get clogged with muck, I use a tool like this.

One of the attachments usually gets them out. I'd agree with soaking them in warm water first and also putting some silicone spray lubricant in the fitting before fitting the new spikes.

And don't leave it so long to replace them next time.

If mole grips and soaking don't work, increase the depth of the holes in the stud by a few mm with a thin drill bit - enough to get a purchase with your tool ......

I have got some pliers that snip cable. They go over the hole stud and then under the stud. In essence between the stud and shoe. Quick turn and out they come. Them original stud tools quite frankly are crap.

Don't worry about soaking them, just get one of these and don't run your fingers over the business end………….

Either of those devices should do the job. Awesome things for taking out spikes.

by not replacing them often enough obviously.....but thanks for your input!

Thanks for the helpful replies everyone else, I will try those tools.
