Thought i had seen them all on attenboroughs programmes. Serengetti, migration of fish up the east coast of africa. This morning 9.00am to be precise. The opening of the gates so people can get there towels on sunbeds. It has to be up there with them. Big uns some that have struggled to move 20 yds without having four beers now have a spring in there step. It is an amazing migration and quite frankly funny to watch.

Lady in the prius that brought me to cala doe is worried re the moroccans and chinese in Majorca. 😳
None round the pool though
 
We set off to drive 200 miles up the A1 today.

I was expecting to join a jam and trundle up in stop start traffic, well so the news lead me to believe.

I think I saw a tractor, two lorries and a couple of cars packed full of camping gear.

Think all the traffic was to be found on the southern loop of the M25....

I’m in Majorca at the moment as well. Not the same place as you OP, but when I read this I thought I might be!

Exactly the same here. Pool is chained off at three strategic points, chains come down at 9am. People gather about twenty minutes prior to that, ready to put their towels out. Lots of Germans here? Nope. It’s mainly us Brits!

The second the chains are down, people are legging it round to get their towels on their preferred beds. Within 5 minutes there are none left!

I hate this sort of thing, but naturally I’m in there as well. I’m on my last day now and have got my tactics down to a tee! I know exactly where to stand prior to the chains coming down and exactly where to strike - got the same beds every day I’ve been here! 😂😂😂 Everyone else does the same, so you’ve gotta be in the race or you’ll miss out!

I dare say the same situation goes on in resorts all across Europe!
 
Heard someone on the radio the other week saying that people were getting up at 4.00am to put towels on sunbeds where they had stayed. Must have screws loose.
 
People can be so selfish. I was sat in a cafe with my wife today, they supply around four news papers for customers (none are the DM before anyone pipes up 🙂) A couple sat sharing a cake and drinking glasses of tap water had all the news papers on their table, no consideration for anyone else. I also notice she was pulling out the pages with the crossword from each of them and putting them in her bag. My wife was giving me that look that says "don't you dare say anything" so I never 🤐

There are times when one must simply bite one's tongue... And, top of the list, is upon receiving "the look"... It simply isn't worth disobeying...
 
Went to the Santanyo Market on weds. Before we went we had breakfast and watched the sunbed run. A couple put a blanket over two prime sunbeds. Then had there breakfast. An hour later they got on the local bus and went to the market with us. We got back at 13.30. They got back at 17.00 hrs. Took the blanket off and went back to the room. That went down well with the fossils round the pool. 😳

I think the xenophobic daily mail figures you have read are wrong.

From the latest data i could find with a quick google, the top ten migrants by country of Birth,

Poland
India
Pakistan
Ireland
Romania
Germany
Bangladesh
Italy
South Africa
China

Some people (me included) would argue that Poland is Central Europe. So you have Romania... How do the stats fit your agenda? Oh, and don't let the stats above into a Brexit conversation either!!

Struth, it was meant to be a joke. Obviously I never convinced you of that.
