World Record Attempt - Stupid or plain crazy!

Well done on a very good effort I do believe that's 4 minutes and 26 seconds per hole which sounds quick.

Do you know how many miles that was in total.
Did the members get out of the way.
What clubs did you carry.

A long way off the record though but is there a minimum length the course has got to be?

Yep, more info please. Surly Mr 221 had a clear course and a caddy? Can you use a buggy? Whats the exact rules?

Thanks, it was over 40 miles! Course has to be over 6,000 yards. But I am suspecting the key lies in distance green to tee, there were some long runs although the course flat. The members were fantastic and didn't hold me up at all.

Charity is Sparks, aids medical research on children - fantastic cause. No has to be on foot and he and I carried a 7 iron only and you have to hole out. I did it in full golf attire - Royal & Awesome finest and pink myjoys!

Did you work out that the fastest way was to use a 7 iron only or you just felt that was the way you wanted to go?

I think it's super cool. I kinda fancy having a go but the pace is hot! 3.20 per hole to equal the record.

Did it turn into a grind or did you manage to keep it fun?

The Canadian guy had used only 7 iron and while thinking about the attempt kept going through options on distance and straightness and putting etc. Definitely 7 iron the way to go, always been comfortable around green with it and easy to adapt to put. Only nuisance is deep bunker, didn't hit many but darn they can hurt the shots. Fairly strong mentally so it was very much mind over matter and just keep going. When I knew I could not get record thought of stopping on 8 rounds but the observers persuaded me I shouldn't quit as I have never quit anything. Glad I didn't! Mind you I am 53! I think it's a young mans challenge!

Well I'm still alive and kicking and now thinking about another attempt!

Good luck if you do. Is there a way of getting closer? I tried for a world record once, visiting all the London Underground stations in one day which took mammoth planning. Is there an officially recognised British record for the most holes played and if so even if you don't get the world I hope you can get the British version
