I must admit that whilst keenly following golf, I have never had that much interest in who's number 1 - probably because all those years that some golfer called Woods was harder to shift than an middle-eastern dictator. Presently however with Luke, Rory, Lee and Co. it has suddenly become interesting, this has got to be fantasticly good for the sport when every win or top ten at any tournament could effectively change things.
It adds an extra incentive (if one were needed) to fight for 10th spot if this gets you the world No. 1 spot because someone else is down the field.
Congratulations to Luke Donald.....we can watch with interest to see how long it lasts.
