Woods out of US open

2 Q's -

What are the tv cameramen going to do?

and

Will it be a hollow victory for the winner?

Why would it be a hollow victory???????? Woods hasnt really had any game so to speak for over a year now. Nowhere near number 1.

I think with all the talent that there will in the field any winner will be glad of the victory and it will be well deserved.

And I'm sure the cameramen will still concentrate on the US members of the field more than European, Asian, African and Aussie players.

I bet the commentators still droll on about him though.............

The camera's will be free to follow whoever is leading rather than Tiger all day even when out of contension. As for the hollow victory he has not won a major in 3 years so not really an issue any more.

3, q) will we miss him now he's gone.

A) nope!

Bit harsh. I for one would miss him if he had to retire early through injury. He is probabaly the best golfer ever and when he is on form like at the Masters he is still one of the best to watch.

I just wish the tv executives would treat him like a normal player rather than a walking nike advert.

A pity, I think it's fair to say that even when he's not playing his best game he's still one of the first players we all look for to see how he's doing.

However he's playing he's still one of the most exciting players to watch. (But the US coverage of him is grossly overdone)

Who cares?
I only look to see how he's doing in the hope that he isnt doing to well.

I'd rather watch the lesser known guys than listen to all the crap we already know about Woods. If he was arriving to play my course today, I wouldnt go to see him.............I'm sure he's worried what I think, but there u go..He shall enjoy his retirement spending all those millions on women and fast cars.

I'm going to suggest that Woods has won his last Major, and I for one won't be upset not to see him next week. I also cannot stand the man, however great a golfer he is (was?).

Jack Nicklaus made my hackles rise last week when he was asked about Luke Donald being world number one. He is reported as saying that whilst Donald could be proud of his achievement, all the players still viewed Woods as the true number one. Patronising and belittling in the extreme, I thought.

Whoever wins next week still has to overpower a really tough track, and the fact that Woods won't be there will, as always, make for far more entertaining golf than the sickening saturation coverage given to him by the US networks.

I'm going against the grain here. I think he will be a loss to the game.

IMO no one has attracted more players to the game in recent years (apart from icons live Seve, Faldo etc) than Woods.

Yes, he's a sour faced g1t on the course and gives the worst post round interviews when he's played badly, but, are you happy when you're at work? Hasn't Lee Westwood been like this a little just lately?

I will conceide he should, as a role model, have a different demeanor about him. He travels the world, playing the best courses, not to meation his wealth, pretty much living the dream.

You could always look at another way. Anthony Kim could be the next big thing

No but ive got a crap job sat in an office most the day, my yearly salary is only a small percentage of the appearance money that Tiger will get for turning up at one tournament. I would like to see the miserable git's face if he had to do my job all day then go home to our lass on a night afterwards!

Now, would I be happy in Tiger's job?.....silly question :D
