Seems like Tiger will play in the 2012 Ryder cup no matter what kind of form he is in.

Read all about it here

Is this right? do you agree? How do you think the rest of the guys hoping for a wild card pick will feel?

I really dont know how to feel about this on one hand he can produce some extraordinary golf but hasnt for a while. Other hand it can be off putting to the others thinking thats a wildcard spot if he doesnt make it via the automatic picks.

Has he done to give him a confidence boost as in we know you can play and I want you there or will it work the other way he becomes lazy and says I dont need to play at events because im in anyway and then performs worse?

I believe he said he wants him in the team as he would love to be Tigers partner, but I also know the US captain wants to play himself anyway so who knows what hes thinking about with his captaincy?

Rightly or wrongly it will be a very brave Captain that leaves Tiger out.
I do feel sorry for some of the guys who may miss out, but I would have to say yes, put him in!

As it stands he is still the biggest draw, although an increasing proportion of that is those stopping to watch an accident on the opposite carriageway.

A year is a long time. If the news stays bad or there are other revelations (a few cubs?) etc, and his image is further tarnished, the attitude of the PGA Tour may change.

He may well get a pick but they have to leave it until the right time. Saying that he will be picked, anytime between now and the date the picks are announced is just wrong.
Freddie was wrong to come out so early and pick Tiger for the President's Cup.
The Guy isn't playing and when he does he doesn't show any form - 4 top 10's in 2 years can't put him in the top 20 Yanks let alone the top 12....

Lots of good young Americans coming through. I dont think this will happen unless he steps up his game.

Not sure I'd pick him. He's hardly got a fearsome RC points record and to be honest his aura in the singles is all but gone. I'd rather use my pick to take someone playing well at the time of the matches

At the end of the day....the officials want record numbers showing up. As much as some disagree, TW is still the biggest draw by far.
Wasn't Tiger the highest points scorer for the US in 2010? I'm sure he will do fine.

doesnt matter about form when it comes to the 'greats' in the game.....
ie if Nicklaus wanted in and he got a wildcard the sponsors would be happy, TV co's very happy, crowd happy, his opponent nervous ;)
think thats scenario fits Tiger as well
