Woodhall Spa

Just got back from our trip to Woodhall Spa.

I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped when I asked on here for it.

I have to say the place is amazing, the Bracken course would be a number one course anywhere else and was a really good fun test despite the weather.

The Hotchkin course is amazing, this is by far the hardest test of golf I have ever attempted, walked off yesterday really pleased with 33 points and a par on the 12th after the birdie put lipped out. Today the Hotchkin took me apart and no I could not get out of the left hand bunker on the 12th after I stuffed my tee shot into it.

The fairways are fantastic too I have played on worse greens

If you ever get the chance play it

Where did you stay ? any recommendations?

We just done the Belfry for Masters weekend, and Woodhall is on the shortlist for next year.

Did you stay at onsite hotels or any local B&Bs that get a thumbs up ?

Many thanks

No hotel on site. You have got the hotels in the village.

What month are you looking at going, winter rates are till the end of April and then its summer rates.

We stayed at The Inn, one of the starters recommended it as the best on and the rooms were very nice and the breakfast was much better when they were quieter on the Tuesday. I went direct through Woodhall Spa and got a pretty good offer two nights and three rounds two on the Hotchkin for £223.

If looking yourself the Pitchaway B&B is probably the closest place but was not offered as part of a deal and for us would of cost a little more including the rounds.

Food wise we ate at the Indian which was pretty good and then went to the Village Limits and again the food was good about a ten min walk away.

Thanks. I like the look of the Inn, especially s its close by and the added factor of winter fes in April make it a contender for Masters Weekend 2016.
We were matched up with two boys at The Belfry last weekend who raved about Woodhall. Love the reviews and the photos Ive seen so far.

What did you think to the Village limits, I have only eaten there once and thought it was good.

Really good food, maybe not the best laid out but in no way offensive. If I made the trip again I would head back.

Well worth a look on Trip advisor there is a very funny bad review about requesting a chauffer service......

I stayed in the Petwood Hotel which is the Dambusters one. Really nice food and a full size snooker table which we had to ourselves all evening. Can't say fairer than that. And the next day as we were playing the Bracken we had a fly past by a Lancaster which was very low. And very spectacular. I thought that was possibly going over the top a bit, arranging a fly past just for us. But that shows just how good they are at Woodhall Spa. ;)

We thought it was just us, however we have the Euro fighter fly past option chosen for us.
