My pals and I hold an annual golf tournament and our 2014 event is set for a few weeks time at Woodhall Spa, which I'm very much looking forward to. All the usual logistics are sorted including golf and accommodation.

However, accommodation includes only breakfast which means we'll be left to fend for ourselves in the evenings (Fri and Sat night). Given there are 12 of us and it's the weekend, whilst I'm sure we can find a nice pint or two at the various local pubs, I'm guessing it would be sensible to book restaurants, etc.

Anyone with recent experience and advice? Doesn't need to be fancy, just honest decent food in a relaxed environment...

Thoughts appreciated.

mab, I can't comment on the food side as each time I have been to Woodhall Spa it's been included, but get yourself to the conservative club, probably the bst beer in the village with 3 snooker tables, so thats your entertainment sorted.

I have been several times,we stayed at The Inn last time. It is a very good place to eat even if your not staying there. You are not going to find night clubs close by but plenty of good hotels and pubs. If you all want a curry the one on the Main Street is good just pop in before and let the know and they will sort you out. We have been there with a lot more than 12 people.

As the others have said the curry house is good, booking is advisable for a decent group size. The golf hotel is owned by an Indian so they may also do a good curry there.

The inn has a decent menu, the carvery is good so are the burgers, don't however go for the chicken unless your on a diet as I have never seen portions that small.

There is also a Thai, Italian, French and a Chinese in Woodhall.

Drinking wise head for the con club if you want cheap drink if not head for the 617 bar at the inn. If you wants more lively night out get a taxi to Lincoln.

Any questions ask away.
