Just about to book a weekend away next July to Woodhall Spa, they offer a 2016 Summer Package with a round on each course and a nights DB&B for £195.

We have a choice of accommodation, The Inn at Woodhall Spa, The Admiral Rodney (Horncastle) and The Village Limits.

Any recommendations?

I did a similar thing there in 2014 for my works society, didnt cost that much though. We stayed at the Dower House Hotel and it was great, food was excellent.

There are a lot of hotels within about 1mile of the course, so i doubt you could go wrong.

Work in the area and we put up clients here so know a bit about the place.

Value for money its a toss up between the Inn and Limits, but for the pub element I'd have to go for the Inn! Decent food too.

In the area the Woodall Spa Manor is the top dog.

The Petwood is decent, just round the corner.

The Golf hotel isn't generally well recieved

The Admiral Rodney is okay, its Best Western and is pretty dated, personally I don't see the advantage to staying in Horncastle at all, Woodall is a lovely well-kept village with a few pubs, Horncastle is a town that really looks and feels its age.

If you have the time in the area Lincoln is a great city and has loads of good hotels andplaces to eat and drink.

The Hotchkin is a beautiful course, hopefully you'll get to play both courses, both have their merits though the Hotchkin takes the plaudits.

Thanks for the info

Looks like the only accommodation available on our dates on the package is the Admiral Rodney, 10 mins drive to the gold course, so no real decision to make. Would have liked to have been closer, but apparently there are lots of very annoying people holding weddings at that time of year, so hotel rooms on Saturday nights are much sought after.

Playing the Bracken on the Saturday, then the Hotchkin on the Sunday.

Have only heard good things about Woodhall Spa, so looking forward to it very much.

Go for the Inn. Great location and food, with a really nice outdoor eating / drinking area. Inside they have a sports bar with Sky Sports so you'll be able to watch the European Championships and Olympics!

Done it many times. The only bad experience was when Smiffy forgot to book good weather. Brilliant courses, and the town is good for a night out. There's sometimes entertainment on in some of the places... love it.

Great to read good feedback on the courses and The Inn, as I was also looking at Woodhall for an overnight trip sometime in 2016.

You'll have a great time. Make sure you play the Bracken before the Hotchkin though so you're saving the best till last!

We stayed at the Petwood. Great hotel with all the history of the Damn Busters. Plus they had a snooker table with a big TV next to it. So spent the evening having a few pints, playing snooker and watching the footy on TV. Spot on.

The plan (same as we done at Belfry 2015) was to travel down on Masters Sunday, play the smaller course, watch The Masters, east good pub grub, enhale as much Guinness as possible and play big course on Monday

The Masters 2016 clashes with school holidays....ggggrrr !!!!

Summer trip planned instead - maybe coincide with US Open.
