Woodbury Park Devon

Never heard of Westbury Park, do you mean Woodbury Park?

Do a search on here, our society goes each year. Enjoyable place, nice hotel and great food.

Not played it for a while but used to be very prone to holding a lot of water, what time of year are you thinking of going? If you are heading down that way, I would strongly recommend East Devon which is only a few miles down the road. That is a very nice track, Twire on here is a member there

May next year but it's our roll up society's Spring 3-dayer and beyond my control in terms of selection and booking. I'm just making up numbers really.

Criteria is a reasonable golf course, good hotel and decent facilities. We are a mixed group with golf not being the be all and end all, so fingers crossed that it will suffice and the golf course will be good enough to keep us keener golfers happy.

Used to be "Mansells" but been sold on as far as I know, the course was in reasonable condition the last time I went there (2011'ish) but the greens were a bit doughy and a bit pock marked from an outbreak of fusarium (which apparently they're prone too) the rest of the course was well kept though !...

I played it 2 weeks ago. Not the longest of courses was In good nick compared to the other times I played it. Can get quiet wet and they have a few years ago put a lot of drainage in. mansell hasn't owned it for years but still has a few of his helmets etc on display. Nice view from the club house of the finishing hole over water. Only real negative was finished round at 5.15 tried ordering 4 rounds of sandwiches and chips to be told only main meals being served after 5. So they lost nearly £40 on food there.

Average course at best IMHO. only went there because the fog had come in and we couldnt play East Devon.

if you're going that way, go to St Mellion. much better and always great value

I've not played it this year, but have a few mates that are members and their saying the greens have not been great this year. It's an ok course, can be a tough test depending where the tees are, bit confused with Tab's "Not the longest comment" its about 7300 off the back tees. and probably 6600 off the whites. It also has an ok 9 hole course, nice if you want to play 27 in a day. The hotels alright, I think it's advertised as 4 star but I would put it nearer 2-3 it looking a bit tired. Still a few bits of Mansell memorabilia there but he sold it 6-7 years ago. (Think its up for sale again now)

I'm sure you'll have a good time, it's pretty well set up for society/corporate packages.
