It rained for the first 7 holes of my club championship round and then was cloudy with a few sunny periods and very, very humid. The rain helped slow the greens down and scoring was very, very low. Our club champs have historically been 36 holes on the one day but this year we introduced a cut for the top 40 and the cut mark was only +4.
Played 36 hole open at my home club. We had one shower lasting 10 minutes, dry rest of day but blustery, cool and generally grey skies.
Never mind played really well first 18 for a one over 71 for a 0.3 cut so attained my best ever handicap of 3.7. However played awfully 2nd 18 for an 81 so 0.1 back up but a good day all round, waiting to see if I'm in the prizes.
Played 18 last night in an away team match getting back at midnight and I'm afraid 54 holes in the space of 24 hours is too much for me these days, couldn't focus this afternoon I was dog tired.
Was really looking forward to my first ever monthly medal, heavens opened 30 mins before we tee'd off stopped after 3 holes (2 over inc having got the SI 2 out of the way) then a downpour of biblical proportions, hide under trees for 15 mins, realise it ain't for stopping, play on and by the 10th (who's scoring now? this is about survival!) the greens were completely pooled with water
Don't think "long" will do it justice Smiffy!!
Enjoy anyway - I'm still recovering from this cold.Good news is, though, the curly tail doesn't seem to be sprouting!!!
