Apologies if this should be in arrange a game, but before I get to that part wondered if anyone has experienced the following.

Woburn, played in their open competitions?
In particular the mixed open. It's at the end of August this year. Not my favourite format, greensomes but at £110.00 for a mixed pair on the Marquess including coffee and b/roll and BBQ lunch.

If this should appeal to anyone a few more details are here.

( hope you can download the info, I had to get Bob to do it :D )

:) :) :)

Im planning on playing the singles the following day, I think a few off here played in the pairs last year (though theyve changed the format to gruesomes this yr)

Is mixed pairs one high handicapper playing with one low handicapper?? :D
Mixed pairs is a male and female golfer playing together as a team.

I did the men's pairs last year and it was FANTASTIC! For £110 I would be biting their arm off to play (if I was available, which unfortunately I'm not) - bargain.

A well organised day with prizes from 7th place and a buffet lunch which was superb. The Marquess course was wonderful - a pleasure to play.

We even snuck on to The Duchess for a few holes later on, and that is tight, tight, tight! But still very nice to play.

Thanks for that, would love to play the Marquess and this is definitely a good way of doing that.

The ladies also have an open on the 9th but it's on the Dukes, 4bbb you have to find a team, and it's £65.00 each. (not sure of finding 3 ladies as nuts about a game of golf as me)

I'll move this to arrange a game and see if anyone is interested.

our society entered two teams in the fourball comp last year (company paid), I played the Dukes and the other team managed to swap to play the Marquess. The comp was shotgun start, but there were a lot of entries and the par five tees were doubled up - not good planning really as the preceding holes being shorter meant that delays were in built.
The team playing the Marquess were starting on 10 I think, if you're starting on the back nine you need to drive to the car park on that side - it's a long way to walk!
We got a (very) full english and a substantial lunch (it was October so soup, sandwiches, satay and for some, several desserts!)

probably going to apply for the men's open on 22 Aug - £65 on the Marquess, which is the only course I haven't played there. It includes breakfast and lunch.
