Anyone been custom fitted at Woburn ?

I'll be having a look at the new drivers in Feb probably and I usually go up to the Belfrey to get fitted but it is a bit of a trek. Woburn is much closer.

Do they have a full selection of clubs to do custom fit. Ping, TM, Callaway, Titliest etc ?

A friend of mine was custom fit there at the end of last year. They were going to make some changes to existing clubs and provide a couple of new ones for a fair few bob. They didn't deliver when they said they would, told him a couple of times that clubs were sent away, parts ordered etc. when he went to collect, they hadn't been sent. He ended up taking the clubs back and not making the changes. the new driver eventually turned up, but he' struggled with it big time and reverted to his old one - he's an 8 handicapper and no mean player. All in all he was extremely dissatisfied with the service, especially since he's been a member for over 20 years...

That's a shame.

Guess I'll stick with the Belfrey. Always been really good up there.

I usually get a fitting in the morning then go out for a round afterwards. But it just makes it a long day with a 2.5 hour drive at each end.

Surely there's somewhere closer than the Belfry to do a custom fit for you?

What about Silvermere, they looked pretty well set up when I was there.

Or these men http://www.customlabgolf.com/

I did look at Silvermere but given the traffic on the M25 it takes about as long to get there as the Belfrey :(

Customgolf lab are a lot closer and looks like they have a good range of club fitting options.

Anyone any experience of them ?

Are you talking about Gavin at Beadlow?

If so I got on well with him.

He fitted me with a Ping G30 driver that I have managed turn around my Driving no end.

Also fitted with Gmax Irons.

The Irons took about an hour on the range with use of a trackman.

I went back for the woods/Hybrids which took a similar time but only the driver was necessary. He cut the shaft down and regripped with oversize and I collected it a few days later.

The irons were ordered from Ping and took almost 3 weeks.

This is my only fitting ever by the way.

He has all the shafts and heads to swap about during the fitting to try.

A few of the guys at our place have used Adam Bishop and only heard good things.

Ed is excellent (fitting and lessons imho), albeit he wont carry every brand you may want, has a great indoor set up and not too far from you (J12 on M1)

Thanks. I'll have a look at them as well.

Just doing a bit of research at the moment before I decide. The customgolflab guys over a Beadlow Manor looks pretty good and it's only a 30 min drive from me.
