Its here at last the season that is!!
Great time of year this, been working on your games through the dark winter months and here we are with light nights and the whole season ahead of us.

Mine starts tomorrow with a comp called Opening Day which is the official reopening of the championship tees.My game is shocking, been working so hard on starting my own business that I have hardly played in the last 3 weeks. :(

Looks like we all have some sunshine to kick off the season, lets hope it lasts the summer this year.

Good luck to everyone, I hope you hit all your goals for the season but if you dont just try to enjoy being on the course with friends, life's to short to let a few bad shots ruin your day.

Already played in my first qualifier on wed. I was worse than appualing along with the rest of the field. Not checked results but I think it might be reduction only according to early reports.

Still, glad it's out of the way. Onwards and upwards.

Good luckfor the season everyone.

Contenders Ready!!!

It's the Masters just being round the corner that gets everyone's juices flowing for the new season ahead and, as Alchemy said, a bit of sun on our backs this weekend certainly helps.

A vs B team "friendly" today. The B team always want to get one over on us, especially as we got relegated last year and so they have to play at a bunch of crap courses this year!!

1st medal tomorrow, greens aren't great at the moment after maintenance week so that will be interesting!!

Good luck everyone for your golfing, and other, goals this season!! :D :D

We've got Opening Match today, a Texas Scramble - nice easy way to start the year.
Been practising plenty so hoping I can get some short game feel today for the first medal tomorrow.

Good last paragraph Alchemy, I must pay heed and enjoy it more this year no matter the score. :o

I tee off in 30 mins, im sat here in the ccar finishing a cup of coffee before getting limbered up. we are on lift clean and place on the fairways only but still looking forward to the first real comp of the year. good luck all.

1st medal on Monday. Working Sunday night shift so will be a bit tired. Still looking forward to it though. Draws have also been made for the club competitiions as well so I'm looking forward to some competitive golf at last.

Our first Medal is today but I'm in the process of emptying the livingroom and diningroom of all furniture etc. so that a new carpet can be fitted at the begining of the week so no golf for me today I'm afraid

Just need to save myself for the next comp in a couple of weeks ;)

Hope this is a good season for all, certainly hope the weather is better than last year.

Captains Drive in and medal today, not playing though as not played enough quailfiers, nevermind ill be out this afternoon

On Grass tee boxes and no mats on the fairways

GET IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Good thoughts Alchemy , the juices are flowing.

Should have been our first qualifier tomorrow but theyve spiked the greens and fairways this week so its just a non-qualifier :(

Oh well , GL everyone and lets see those h/c's plummet

Just back from my worse round of the year, tough windy conditions about 2 to 3 club difference.

Managed to par index 1 for a nice four point haul, only highlight of the day. Only scored 29 pts.

Back out tomorrow--it can only get better.

Rather windy here too, managed 34 points with 3 dings, those three holes were down to bad drives yet the driver worked well everywhere else. Looking forward to next week already. :D

We've been playing all through. We don't really have a winter and summer season per se but there are qualifiers and gold letter events starting to come thick and fast. Monthly stableford tomorrow and hoping I can have a decent showing

Well, I've managed to empty the living room and diningroom now. carpet to be lifted tomorrow at some stage then hopefully a few holes tomorrow afternoon. Weather here was a bit showery and quite windy today so not too unhappy at being stuck indoors playing at removal men.

Oh well, first game of year and it went fairly well. My Texas scramble team of me off 5, an old boy off 10, lady off 15 and a junior lad off 33 got it round in 5 under 65 gross with no dropped shots less 6.3 for 58.7. Didn't miss any silly ones so finished top 5 out of 21 teams (winners 56.1) on a cold damp day so all in all we felt we'd done ok.

I have acquired a Callaway Hyper X 10 deg regular flex driver - an absolute revelation for me - straight and long, something I haven't done consistently in a long time. Would highly recommend it on todays showing.

Short game poorish, greens very hairy but great to be back on the golf course again. :D

on the laptop again because my wife and my mother are watching the Glenn Miller Story on tv. Attempting to watch the US golf on laptop but lets face it, it's rubbish on the computer.
