I was sitting in the house last night and for the first time this year I noticed how dark it was at 8pm. I also noticed it was a tad chilly when I took the dog on his walk.

Got me thinking....I need to get sorted for winter golf. I'm wanting to start buying gear before it gets really wet and cold so if you could let me know what you do to winterize yourslf, here's what I have listed so far.

- Umbrella and holder
- Gore-tex jacket (already have)
- Gore-tex hat (already have)
- winter trousers
- winter shoes - advice needed
- bag cover
- towel
- Winter gloves (pair)

what do you have and is there anything else you'd recommend

In the Winter I normally don't bother with a brolly. Either the wind's blowing too hard and it gets blown away or it's too damn cold to hold it. I've never liked brolly holders as there's always the chance of a gust catching it and turning your trolley over and anyway I'm going to carry this Winter.
Any decent waterproof shoes will do you, you don't have to spend a fortune.
I would recommend a pair or mitts!
Waterproof trousers - see above (shoes) although many times I don't bother as my troos keep me fairly warm anyway.
A couple of towels may be a good bet but only if it's raining - same as Summer. Same goes for the bag cover.
Just wrap up warm in layers and play - love it because it's nice and quiet!

Recently bought a pair of FJ greenjoys for winter, impressed with them so far, paid about £30 from JJB, years waterproof warranty too

I have purchased an Izzo Cart Bag for the winter, pockets and sealed around the zip and it has more room than my Titliest cart bag which is all shiny so I don't want to ruin it.

Mitts and a decent Cup-a-soup reciepe, I normally go with Chicken soup or if I am feeling frisky, Tomato and Herd!

Going to stick my FJ Dryjoy Tours in the garage and use my FJ Comforts. Decent thin compression layer thermals are also on the list. Sport Soccer online have very good deals on Golfing stuff year round so they will be my shop of choice, even though giving money to a NUFC supporting shop disgusts me.

First winter of playing and on my list are:
Footjoy AQL
Footjoy Wintersof gloves
A pair of mitts
Nike performance carry bag
Waterproof cover for bag(got)
A decent windshirt
Under armour long johns
Under armour smock
A hip flask with rum to keep me warm.

Anything I forgot?

Luckily, i'm not expecting any rain. I might get some of those lycra pull on sleeve jobbies, for the colder mornings. But besides that, i'll still be in shorts!
