Well guys i havent played 2 bad in winter but havent played in a few weeks due to work etc and now i have some time off am going to try get back onto the course and range over the next couple of weeks also going to try get my fitness better so am all go for april when season starts

anyone else making plans for new season

Good luck with your training. Dont bulk up too much as a balance between strength and flexibility is better than just extra muscle

am not going to just going to start going out in the bike in the mornings i just need to loss a bit and back to my normal weight i will be happy with

I'm just focussing on getting the short game in order for the start of the season. I want to try and get some work done with the putter and it is my chipping I need to look at. Sadly in the current conditions neither is likely to happen soon.

I go to the gym most nights, but golfing wise I would like a few putting lessons and a couple of short game lessons too. Like Homer says though, the putting green is not in the best nick due to the weather, so probably wouldn't justify the cost. Will wait 'till April before I have a lesson and hopefully hit a hot streak Just before the season starts!

Short game practice, especially chipping and those fiddly little pitches from 40 yards and in, will be where I concentrate most of my practice this year.

The long game and putting have been very generally good in 2008 but I could still shave off 4/5 shots per round if I could chip and pitch. My last round was a perfect example, an 81 where I took 5 to get down from 40 yards on the 1st and 5th. There's 4-6 shots straight away.

Short game short game short game for me this year. As much as possible. Pitching, chipping, putting.

I could do with working on my long irons but that won't be where my emphasis will be as generally there not too bad.

I will have a putting lesson or two once the greens have thawed out.
